Okay on the flip side of the "cultic" mentality... we could discuss the "political correctness" that has people so afraid of "offending" anyone who happens to be a follower if Islam, that islamic terrorist cults are largely ignored and allowed to spread their hatred and fear. It's like the reaction to "with us or against us" has been just as extreme a

Eric, how old is your child? That is really scary. My friend has (now) five year old daughter who not only is being indoctrinated in the hatred and isolation but who's early schooling is also suffering as a direct result of her mother's choices. I realize that the government can't just tell people what to believe and that is a good thing but, when beliefs are setting the stage

I'm not looking for critics of Islam. I'm looking for help in dealing with a radical "islamic" group with recognized ties to terrorism. The pages on coping and getting help all lead back to how to do an intervention. Even the coping strategies are largely preperation for intervention (i.e. keeping notes of conversations). If intervention isn't appropriate then what ot

This political correctness of "don't say anything negative about anything remotely related to islam" is half of the problem in my opinion :? I appreciate the insight from those who sought to clear up the issue but even Rick Ross seemed more willing to blame me for being too "anti islam" when we contacted him for help. I guess most people cannot understand that isl

The recruiters here seem to be on our street knocking on doors *all the time.* It doesn't seem to matter how often you tell them you aren't interested, they're back the next week if not sooner. I used to be nice and take their magazines from them hoping to just get them to go away. Now I usually don't bother to answer the door at all if I realize who it is in time. The onl

Where can a concerned best friend and sister who don't have a lot of financial resources turn for help when someone is involved with a radical islamic extremist "cult?" I posted more information on the situation here:

Thank you moderator & Eric Blair :) I will check out those books that you mentioned. I do have a translation of the Qu'ran but, it seems to do no good to try to reason with my friend using knowledge from the Qu'ran because in their view, if it isn't in Arabic, it isn't really the Qu'ran. Never mind that she doesn't speak or read Arabic, I suppose that is

There has only been on serious study about what happened 9/11 and that, frankly, is a problem. But surely no one seriously doubts that planes *were* flown into the buildings? My friend's belief has nothing to do with what caused the buildings to fall. She simply believes that the gov't ordered the planes to be flown into the buildings as an excuse to persecute muslims. It is thi

Thanks for the replies. From what I can tell of the group that she is with, they follow the Sunni school of thought regarding Islam and are amongst themselves extremely strict in obedience to the Hadiths and Sharia law and very highly intolerant of anyone who is not as strict in observance (including other Muslims). They are very "millitant" or lack of better word and extremely "

My friend converted to Islam a few years ago. I initially supported her decision but as time has gone on it has become clear that the people she is involved with are at best a questionable group and at worst... who knows. I cam here because I have heard of Rick Ross in cult-related news before... and was hoping to find help in dealing with this increasingly bad situation. Said friend has a f
