While reading all the info here on Landmark, I find myself wondering about their ultimate purpose. Can anyone tell me what it is? Yes, I know they are after money. But sooner or later, their rank and file have to become financially depleted. And new recruits have to eventually become harder and harder to find. Then what? Political power? World domination? I can't seem to figure o

Vic, if it makes you feel any better: I heard about Abraham-Hicks from a friend. It piqued my interest so I checked it out (like I do many things). I even posted a few times on one of their boards. Know what? They all got mad at me. Know why? I asked tough questions. I'm just a curious person who will not accept anything without understanding. I'm not trying to belittle

Questioning things that you know are incorrect is precisely the opposite of playing dumb. Many years ago, I was heavily recruited by a MLM. I didn't like it and walked away, but I know very well what they are and how they operate. The Abraham-Hicks stuff may be pure horse manure, but it is not an MLM organization. Why are you so paranoid about people who question YOUR "fac

How on earth can I be an "apologist"? Until coming across this webiste, I had never heard the term "LGAT" and have never heard of Landmark, or any of the other organizations mentioned. And after reading what they do, I can't imagine any person with common sense paying hundreds of dollars to join them. I did read that some were directed there by thei

I'd never heard of Landmark until reading this forum. It sounds pretty "out there". Can someone who has been to one of their meetings (or whatever they are called) please explain to me what drew you there? I understand why people go if it was recommended by a doctor or therapist, and I guess I can understand going to please a friend or loved one, but I'm curious

WOW, Sane! Thank you so much for your detailed explanation. My interest is purely intellectual. I had been reading some of the Abraham-Hicks stuff and came across this website by accident. Please understand that I'm not an "Abie" or "Hicky" or whatever the group is referred to as. I'm basically a loner and an independent thinker so I've

rrmoderator, thank you for your quick response to my question. However , the link posted was a specific description of some kind of training called "Vitality" that I have never heard of. Although it no doubt provides an example of LGAT, it still does not give me a generic clear and concise definition of what the term LGAT refers to. From what I have read here in vairous t

I've been perusing this forum looking for a clear definition of what LGAT actually is. Can soneone direct me to a thread that explains it? I've never heard of at least half of the organizations mentioned here. I've been reading about the psychosis experienced by certain followers, but still don't clearly understand what you are talking about. Perhaps the moderator/forum

Can someone please explain to me why Abraham-Hicks is classified as MLM? Although the Hicks sell their books, seminars, etc., just as any other self-help guru(s), there is no system of marketing groups who recruit others to sell the products. Other than the fact that Mr. Hicks was once associated with Shaklee, what is the basis of the claim that they are an MLM? You can take it or leave it
