It just occurred to me that David Icke's "idea" that the people in power are "Lizard People" and are related somehow to some type of "Jewish Conspiracy" to rule the world...reminds one of those horrible racist cartoons where Jews and other ethnic groups were drawn to look like demons, with horns, and all the rest of it. This was done to dehumanize humans. So

Actually, "precognition" in terms of dreams is an ideal example of the Confirmation Bias...we notice things that happen in the external world, that we may have dreamt about, and don't notice things that don't happen. We all have thousands of dreams, so we remember the hits, and not the misses. It would actually be quite simple to prove. A person would need to find an

Ah yes, it was only a matter of time before the Holy Royal Way called in the high-priced tax lawyers to hide behind. Its very typical that these so-called "religions" that are allegedly "spiritual" end up hiding behind high-priced tax lawyers, to exploit the loopholes in the tax code to their own personal advantage. Unfortunately, many of these so-called religions are able

What is most likely happening when people think they are experiencing "psychic" moments, is they are falling prey to the Confirmation Bias The only way to try and sort that out would be by engaging in very careful tests, using trained independent observers. Its a serious drag to see so much false information being apparently genuinely believed about James Randi and his processes,

These comments by Laura Marble are coming right out of the Landmark salespitch. "I know its a controversy, but go and find out for yourself". That is the trick, to get the people into the "tent" so they can work their LGAT persuasion on people. Landmark just wants to get people to come, so they can get their teeth into them. As far as the column, you it made it sound like

I agree that one must carefully test all information coming their way. But the link below is really coming from the "Therapy Wars" agenda. First off, its from 1996. Next, psychoanalytic therapists and psychiatrists have taken to distorting Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to a form of high-art. Dr. Wong appears to be deliberately distorting what Burns has said. From someone who came at her column having not read anything by her before, it seemed to me that she went through a "conversion experience", so she obviously has a very dry sense of humor. In case folks wonder why people here had such a strong reaction to that column, its due to everything people have gone through at the hands of Landmark. For example, posts from this very forum ha

As usual, there is a lot of incorrect stuff being written about Randi. I see it as a similar dynamic to Rick Ross, where you have people who despise Rick Ross due to his work, who try to smear him as part of their business model. Its the same with James Randi, people who he has exposed, come after him as well, and make up all sorts of half-truths and falsehoods, etc. When Randi says stuff l

Check out the publisher comments at Amazon, it states right there that The Forum was created by Werner Erhard from EST, which is what Landmark tries to lie about every day. PS: James Randi is a great guy, but if he BUSTS you trying to scam him, or lie, he will tear you a new one. Randi is best going after the scammers, like Uri Geller, who is a flat out conartist. He is a bit indelicate with True Believers, and he knows it. But Randi cut his teeth exposing scammers, so that is what he is best at, and that is why the scammers spend so much time lying about Jam

There are no Skepticism Police, and people have different styles. Its like with Cults. There are True Believers, and there are con-artists, and scammers. The cons and scammers can be freely attacked. Hopefully, the True Believers can be treated more gently. I think David Icke is a disturbed person, with a serious personality disorder, as stated. The reason I feel its ok to attack David

I have read several of David Icke's books, as I knew 2 otherwise somewhat "sane" people who were talking about some very weird shit, and I wanted to know what was going on. David Icke very cleary states he was diagnosed as a Paranoid Schizophrenic, which of course he states is false, as he REALLY CAN communicate with other dimensions of reality, and there REALLY IS a vast global c

Unfortunately, the idea of Skeptic is being confused with the concept Cynic. A Cynic has his mind made up before he sees the facts. A true Skeptic, has the most open-mind possible, and is willing to consider ANY idea or hypothesis, no matter how insane it sounds. But then the true Skeptic carefully applies the tools of critical thinking, to try and figure things out as best as possible, knowin

All it would take is for one of these experienced and powerful class-action lawyers in the US, and they could possibly take Landmark down, and put them out of business. Of course you are 100% correct that different areas have different laws. But if there are types of "labor abuses" going on at any company, then that can be referred to the labor authorities. There must be some rules regarding salaried employees, and how that is related to basic hours. If the contract is based around 40 hrs, and everyone is working 72 hrs a week, every week, then that&#

by the way, here is a specific example to show the cults can't go to Google to remove websites, or alter the ranking. Landmark would have gone to Google for YEARS with hundreds of pages of legal threats to take this very website out of Google completely. Google obviously just told them "show us an order from a judge to do it", that is, show us the legal PROOF of your claims.
