The police don't have any way of knowing whether the perp will continue to confine himself only to "hookers", or that he hasn't already attacked some that are not hookers, or that he will necessarily be sure that the person is a "hooker" before he attacks. Therefore it is very important to the police that they find the guy and take him off the streets. QuoteDon

QuotefindtheliesQuoteAW Stevens I can assure you that Christian colleges have textbooks for their religion courses. There are all kinds or choices available for books that fit the theology of the institution. I don't dispute that. What I was saying is that because there is so much out there in terms of various theologies and "truths" that it would cut down on confusion if you ta

QuotefindtheliesNot when I was there, no. Which, to a degree, is probably good. If they're teaching from the bible, and that's all anyone is expected to bring to class (that and a pen and notebook), I don't think that's altogether a bad thing actually. QuotefindtheliesThey do - it's a very small room in the front of the school facing Chamberlayne. There is little to nothing there (there wasn't the last time I was there anyway). The classes they teach (such as New Testament Survey) are done out of a book the teacher holds onto, the students don't get copies. It helps to keep down on confusion, or people reading things and discover

QuotehismercyThere are 7 yrs. of postings on this blog. If G has done all this stuff, (not saying he hasn't), why hasn't his wife taken the kids, left him and moved back to CA. ? Who really wants to be with someone like that? I guess a better ? is, what's wrong with her, to stay in that life? Well let's see now ... they probably dismiss these postings as inspired by "th

QuotehismercyWe have approx. 7+ yrs. of posts here and one thing I don't recall reading (but it might be in here) is that G & his possee (may be spelled wrong) were on staff at Victory Tabernacle Church of God on Genito Rd. in Chesterfield County when they first came to VA. They make it sound like they came here and opened the ROC the 1st week they were here. No, they were hired staff at

I am still concerned as to why he is still allowed to be around teenage girls. Shouldn't his wife be concerned, too? Is she standing by her man? How did he find out their identities? Quote Did

QuoteBobsmithMost scholars do NOT believe they are part of the original. Search the ancient greek texts. Misguided people aren't necessarily part of a cult. Wrong. Most Bible scholars DO believe they are part of the original. The vast majority of English translations include them as Scripture, only a few footnote them.

I believe that those verses are part of Scripture. Most scholars place them in the original Greek text. I have heard of people dying from intentionally doing those things, namely handling snakes and/or drinking poison in a church service. I would not attend a service where snakes were being handled ... that would come within the definition of 'tempting God'.

The verse in Mark 16 refers to a situation where you -inadvertantly- encounter a snake. Intentionally handling a a poisonous snake in a church service, comes under the principle of "tempting God" and "foolish behavior". It's a cult.

Quote12recoverAnyone know why the buses didn't run yesterday? Saith the ROC -- "Unfortunately, due to extreme heat, we canceled our Whosoever Bus Ministry, last week, but God more than made up for it on Sunday at The ROC on the Road in Mosby Court!" .... It's called SUMMER. Warm day, but plenty of folks enjoyed the outdoors.

What gives? ...no childrens bus ministry today? I rode past the ROC at about 11:00 am today, and all 24 buses (I counted them) were parked in their storage places along the fence, and there were only about a dozen cars parked in front of the building. I attended the ROC at the old location for 3 years, and I don't recall a week without the childrens bus ministry operation.

You may be correct, but don't underestimate what desperate irresponsible people can do if they feel that their interests are 'threatened', and are in a gang mentality. Anybody who is at all 'Internet savvy' will be able to discern that these are real people, and anybody who knows the ROC will understand the reason for anonymous posting, namely because of fear of reprisals and retaliation from ROCers. Pastor himself has threatened in sermons to “punch out” people who criticize certain ROC leaders. He is a very muscular weightlifter guy, and could do

G said in a sermon that he has a "baccalaureate" degree from a school of ministry. If I recall it was from when he was about 20 years old. Of course, the RSUM degree is also called a "baccalaureate", even though it is a 9-month program that has 1/4 of the credit hours of an actual 4-year baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university. I’m sure that they

They could rationalize that a bunch of anonymous posters don't have much credibility in their criticism if they are not willing to post their names. As I have said before, the ROC leader has made public threats against critics, both of a legal nature and of a physical violence nature; and back when this thread of posts had barely gotten started. Therefore the ROC has nobody to blame but

Mr. G "blew it" with me when during a sermon he threatened to "punch out" people who were engaging in "church gossip", and during another teaching he said that he had a "bad lawyer" ("bad" as in aggressive), who wanted to sue people who were posting critical things about the ROC on the Internet.
