Just found this and thought it was applicable to a lot of what UMers say online. Quite a few of the other fallacies apply too:

And I apologise for not realising that Venus had already put up a post about this thing a while ago. I guess I never put 2 and 2 together.

Hey guys, There's apparently an "International Women's Talk" happening in Brisbane tomorrow. The guest speaker is some doctor who is going to enlighten the attendees as to why the rates of women's diseases (breast cancer and probably ovarian and cervical also) are through the roof these days. It sounds absolutely delightful really. My question is, does anyone know w

Welcome WW. I am shocked at the behaviour of your husband and sister. That must be very hard for you. More proof of the destructive nature of this group. If you ever feel like elaborating on your story, we'd love to hear it.

Mr Harvey certainly does sound an awful lot like Serge. I'll bet he thinks his words carry more weight because he's one of the few men regurgitating this crap.

QuoteMorpheusQuoteVenusDarklyIt's from the Goonellabah gazette, penned by Leonardo Pythagoras Bailey. Amazing event i hear! A friend of mine was there. The number of people was well down on usual and they had blacked out the windows so no one could see in. I mean, what is that about if you are not wanting to hide something?? It seems the event started and David was invited up. Serge gave

Great news KIK! I feel that every time someone is saved we should all celebrate at least a little. I was told in no uncertain terms by a psychologist that I can't save my partner. If anyone thinks they can help me prove him wrong, my inbox is always open.

I love the page on the new blog called 'Naming Names' I noticed a couple of practitioners that I know of weren't listed so I mentioned them in the comments section. Within a couple of hours their names had been added. I urge everyone to visit and add any practitioners that you know of who aren't yet listed.

Just quickly wanted to thank Venus for the hard work she has obviously done in starting up her blog and FB page. I wish I had the initiative and time to do something similar. I will definitely add my voice to the blog soon!

Hi all, Firstly, thanks to Willow.Sunshine for adding a voice and sharing their experiences. I just wanted to share a thought I had about the interactions with a UM devotee. It is easy to see them as the enemy when they are constantly attacking you. But I liken it to fighting child soldiers in a war (not that I have any idea what that is like so I'm probably just talking s***). If chil

Thanks so much to Morpheus, Treefern and Rock Biter. You have all provided a little bit of hope to people like me. Hope is something that has been sadly lacking in this thread as well as in my life. I still have no idea if or how it will happen, but at least now I know it can happen!

Just a quick one about these people (mainly practitioners and professionals with a lot to lose by the truth being exposed) who are aggressively defending SB and UM. Feeling the need to defend yourself or your beliefs indicates that on some level you realise there is something not right about them. It is more concerning when people feel no need to defend, because that indicates that on every level

I reckon this: "A better approach may be to acknowledge and encourage a cult member's old self, without criticising or threatening the new cult self. If a cult member feels valued in themselves, and their old self does not feel devalued, then this weakens the cult's attraction for them." That should be posted to ANYONE who believes a loved one is being manipulated into a

Just a quick idea I've had about fear and the way it is used in UM, and probably countless other cults. Forgive me if this subject matter has already been covered, there's just so much content in this thread now that it's hard to keep up! If you look at fear as being one of the most powerful emotions in humans you wonder what it's purpose is. To use the example of a fear of

Just to quickly back up some of what Corboy was saying. I definitely agree that the resistance from family members is not only an expected by-product, but that it is actually by design. I know that my partner fears me and a lot of what I stand for. She of course doesn't realise (or at least admit to me) that her actions and feelings towards me come from a place of fear. Its this fear th

Just quickly, I watched that Today Tonight report and I'm not impressed. I didn't expect much from them (and won't be from the A Current Affair story either), but it almost seemed as if they were promoting UniMed. They let Serge get his message (censored so as not to scare aware potential recruits) across, and had some glowing testimonials from followers. I saw nothing in that stor

Hey guys. I'm back. I thought I'd share my experience and a few musings. I've been with my partner for quite a few years now. We've enjoyed a great, but unextraordinary relationship, until a couple of years ago. My partner went through some stuff that hurt her psychologically. With counselling she started to show signs of improvement. She started seeking alternative meth

Hi guys. Long time reader, first time contributor. I'll share my story some time soon but I wanted to point out that A Current Affair have done a story on our good friend Sergie-boy. It was supposed to be shown last Friday but they held it off. Tracy said they'll show it sometime "soon". Although I wish it was a more reputable news outlet doing the story, it's at
