Let me ask you this Christa Do you think US undercover allies in the middle east will want to help the US after these leaks became public? Do you think some might fear that future leaks could jeopardize their safety and identities? I do. I did check out your links. Opinion remains unchanged.

richiekgb I disagree and I can't believe you posted this. Assange deserves to be imprisoned. What he did was wrong. Why aren't you mentioning the fact he is being charge with 2 counts of rape?! No this isn't me being brainwashed from the media, this is me realizing this scum bag admitted to having sex with 2 women without condoms after they requested he use them. Innocent un

Esther Hicks downplays the Holocaust and essentially any murder with the teaching that "in that horrible act of murder they're launching rockets of desires of what they're preferring and the larger part of them is becoming. " Esther has also stated as her alter ego 'Abraham Hicks' in regards to murder that "We do not look there and the fact that you are

The Anticult: funny you mention Oprah today. I saw her episode today with John of God and had to turn off the TV. I was getting really disgusted with it. She seems to give some of the worst scam artists platforms. She turns people on based on stirring emotions and uses the title "do you believe in miracles?". I believe in a scam...how about that? All these new age scam artists

The new age wackos have definitely gotten a hold of Jenny McCarthy. Scientists must shake their heads as she dismisses vaccines and even suggests they may cause autism. Perhaps Eckhart Tolle and Byron Katie forgot to mention vaccines were created for a reason- to save children's lives. Her and Jim Carrey definitely fell into the bs.

Realizing that there are cults in the new age shouldn't be surprising or depressing. Infact I find it quite empowering when you start to question things like this. Knowledge is power. Everyone has their opinion on the subject. Everyone is entitled to their religious standing. Speaking for myself...when I stepped out of my "new age" thought blocking techniques.... I allowed

Notenlightened Nice post..you got pretty in depth. I'm sure you can find many acceptable cults in our society so it is hard to draw the line. It has been going on since the beginning of mankind so it's a pretty huge topic to dip into. Is this website a cult? no...because we are not presenting material as the truth. We are going into other peoples material and pointing out the f

hey Judy don't blame yourself. What helped me was watching the news, becoming involved in the world around me, looking at reality and accepting it as truth. It will get better. People do scam and sell new age bs for their own benefit, its true. You can be aware of this and still be happy. Perhaps you'd be even wiser now knowing what you do. Anyway, just because you're s

The 2 deaths are sad and display the dangers of new age and law of attraction. In my opinion, James Arthur Ray taught them to not have negative thoughts so when they were getting sick from the heat they didn't speak up because they figured "my thoughts can control this and if I think positive thoughts nothing bad will happen to me." Well something bad did happen. Negative though

ok, so as a former "new ager" I completely laugh and enjoy funny skits on new age gurus etc. I mean c'mon,..let's laugh about it now that we're out of the twisted teachings and can look back shaking our heads. So I found a parody and am posting a link to a youtube video. Check it out. if you have one to please post!! A.

corboy excellent article!! I really liked.... The controlling of mind is done by the person themselves, as they attempt to discipline their mind and reform their personality, in accordance with the tenets of their new belief system. I find this is exactly how Tolle works.....such cult tactics.

hey Brynhild Tudor There are a lot of people out there thinking they're different and tapped into some higher power so it's not surprising that new age uses that to lure people in. (as with every other religion that ever existed lol) I think its great you balance empathy with action. You seem very practical . I myself have a non conformist streak and am very independent. I thin

The wake up call came when I was talking to my boyfriend at the time and he said I seemed 'brainwashed' 'out of it' and like I was hesitating before I spoke. He mentioned that I was speaking of happiness but always seemed serious, calm, and out of any spark of emotion or life. I felt I simply couldn't function in society if I applied his teachings...that woke me up. Fee

oh, and another thing. Tolle tends to use thought control or thought blocking. Perhaps it would help to starting letting your thoughts happen (the good and the bad) and saying what you want without fear or hesitation. Practice your own personal freedom to let this insane guru out of your life! Hope this helps!!

Tiredofthis I was a Tolle fan so I understand what you're saying. His hypnotic, mind numbing teachings are hard to get out of. I swear that man is evil.... anyway, I would suggest focusing on reality some more since his teachings pull you into a "floating" disconnected state. I don't really know what to say except disregard his stuff. Start to let it go day by day. Focus o

hey Brynhild Tudor I was into the new age for about a year and 1/2. I got introduced through an Eckhart Tolle book "power of now" and then got into his work. Afterwards I watched the movie the Secret and through a loa group I started to get into Abraham Hicks. I would say I was really into Esther Hicks for about 8 months. I even went to her workshop. In honesty what snapped me ou

hey Brynhild Tudor I certainly understand. In leaving new age its tough to look at reality and admit that , yes, this is how it is. It's like someone deflated the bubble and you are back where you began. The hard part is trying to figure out what to believe in again. What's right and wrong? What really works and what doesn't? New age gives you the option of a distan

bponeal1982 you make a great point. Abraham Hicks can be considered a cult. Below is an example of the cult tactics she uses. .. Anything the group/leader does can be justified no matter how harsh or harmful. The group/leader is the exclusive means of knowing "truth" or receiving validation, no other process of discovery is really acceptable or credible. Dependency upon the

James Arthur Ray had them brainwashed. A typical seemingly harmless cult leader,...yet look what happens. Not one person spoke up when it got too hot?! James is somewhat accepted by mainstream and able to get away with this. The people that died no longer had their critical thinking abilities. The law of attraction teaches you against your own thinking ability that is meant for your survival. La

new age can very well be considered a cult. In the sense they are using thought control through very manipulative "peace seeking" teachings. They really strip believers of their critical thinking abilities. "Don't focus on reality" is what they preach...focus on your thoughts and inner peace. Yet what does that do? It's makes you passive and subject to anythi

QuoteThe Anticult Another serious problem is that the basic New Age mumbo jumbo can act like a gateway drug. You start out with the soft stuff, and can get lured into more hardcore stuff. Completely agree Anticult. The new age starts with one book, one dvd nicely package and 'harmlessly' marketed. You start to get more and more into it, and before you know it it seems your criti

In my opinion, Eckhart Tolle is employing mind control and hypnotism tactics. He does try to get you into a vegetative “lifeless” mental state. Eckhart Tolle is very dangerous man in my opinion, along with any other ‘egotistical’ gurus claiming you need to ‘dumb’ down yourself and stop thinking all together in order to achieve happiness. They don’t want you to think for yourself, so that they

Abraham Hicks is a fraud and definitely brainwashes people. (especially vulnerable ones looking for ‘life answers.’) Eckhart Tolle does this as well. I’m not familiar with Katie Byron but I did check out her website and from this forum can tell she’s in the same boat as the rest. I would like to focus on Abraham Hicks in hopes that an “Aber” reading this can open their eyes to the brainwashing t
