This Eckhart Tolle is such an entrepreneur, getting his finger into everything, after all, he now has millions. Eckhart Tolle "advaita" Its too bad that Jim Carey appears to be going into the New Wage self-help business, since his movies are not working out. His wife Jenny McCarthy is pretty much the only celebrity follower of Byron Katie, who is peddling the same stuff, but i

Notice the outrageous and absurd level of hypocrisy here. Solvejg posts here telling people to "leave the rest", and ignore the parts they don't like. While simultaneously posting a couple dozen rants against Janaki's experience and balanced viewpoint. Why didn't Solvejg just "leave the rest" of what Janaki wrote? Sorry, but this is the kind of blatant d

That is exactly what these threads about about! People making up their own minds, and finding out the accurate information. Why not read the threads first? The threads are precisely about looking into the methods and the REAL messages contained in the behaviors and words of Byron Katie. The "leave the rest" message, is a standard reply from so many folks in this area. Why leave

yes, that is a very important post. Eckhart Tolle clearly has become an Egomaniac wannabe intellectual. And its very typical that some people fight against the very thing that they refuse to see in themselves. And his personality, appears to be really along the lines of the Schizoid Personality Disorder

Its wonderful the Guruphiliac points out the problems with some Guru's. And some of those websites attacking him personally, are from followers of Sai Baba, who Guruphiliac has rightfully criticized. Sai Baba is a flat out con-artist, with his fake magic tricks, and more seriously the sexual abuse, and local government corruption, etc. But why only go at such obvious targets? And why

that's the magic trick! ;-) this is how you do it... You point to the most obvious abusive con-men, criminals and child-rapists who call themselves guru's, like Sai Baba. They become the bad-guys. But then you misdirect away from the much more sophisticated LGAT groups, who actually make MORE money than the old-school religious cults in robes. The modern so-called anti-guru LGAT g

thanks for this. These people are just beyond reproach. Why are they trying to crush people's natural minds and thinking processes? Human cognition and consciousness is a wonder of Nature, its the greatest thing in the universe since pop-tarts. So why do they want to crush it? To create obedient followers. Hey, they are allowed to think, and write books, and sell their junk. But not y

There is another thread for Eckhart Tolle here. The Power of Now - Eckhart Tolle maybe its better to post about Eckhart Tolle there? but ET has been debunked, sounds like he read the Nog book too! Same story. there is no such thing as spontaneous enlightenment. And even if he had some type of a brain-stroke, then it can't be taught. Its interesting how for example, Guruphiliac ha

In terms of covert conversational hypnosis and persuasion, not one word has been exaggerated. If anything, it has been conservatively presented. Those who try and tap dance around it, when they have the training and knowledge, are liars, or perhaps the better word is propagandists, as they know what they are saying is false. The reason most people don't write about it, is that they have

oh yeah, all of these LGAT's work out their market demographics very carefully. They know who their audience is, income levels, etc. They even sit down and calculate exactly how many regular customers (followers) they need to live their desired lifestyle. For example, only 1,000 followers, at $1,000 per follower a year. How much is that? 1 million a year in income. or just 200 &quo

and one other point...these groups actually Target specific types of people to join their groups. They try to target a demographic that is an easy sell. If one goes and has a look at some of the groups that form around Tolle and people like him, the basic members are basically just regular everyday folks, in the pursuit of happiness. They generally don't have any training in these methods

one other point on this. If a person really did believe in the Eckhart Tolle method, and even some of the Byron Katie ideas, how would they respond to criticism of ET and BK? They would believe that its NOT about the Guru, even if the Guru was a nasty Guru, a scam artist, or worse. They really do believe its all about you, and your perceptions. So if you are criticizing a Guru's meth

well, my view is the comments from "THE_DEAN_001" sounds like the Eckhart Tolle method. This is part of my view. In theology, there is the Original Sin, which most people now reject. But in the "advice" given, its another form of Original Sin of the Mind. People like Eckhart Tolle think there is something wrong with the natural human mind, the way nature made it. What

Last time I checked, none of the new age media Gurus are Jesus or a saint of God. And if a saint of God, or Jesus was alive today, and they claimed to walk on water, then they would have to prove it, like anyone else. Isn't that just common sense? No one here is doing a complete dismissal of EVERY Guru or teacher, and are not criticizing them for no reason. If you look at the facts of w

Its interesting about Eckhart Tolle, he is published by Hay House. Obviously Hay House would do zero "fact checking" or anything else. Since its a New Age publisher, they basically don't believe in "facts", so whatever anyone writes is fine with them. For them, if you believe it, its real. Even the large publishers will publish basically anything if it sells.

what's interesting about this, is that it explains how this system works. Some guy writes a story, that is not true. Then the Oprah show hears about this "good story" and puts it on the show...no fact checking. Chick

It applies 100% not only to a martial arts teacher, but any alleged Zen master, or spiritual guru of any stripe. It would apply to a therapist too!
