Yes, The Guruphiliac blog is bending over backwards, forwards, and sideways to try and rationalize what is going on with Byron Katie. Is the Guruphiliac blog allowing all comments, or only approved comments? Is there a conflict of interest there between Guruphiliac and Byron Katie? Who is it that The Guruphiliac is able to instantly call up on the phone and get this wonderful information fr

Its interesting that the new Byron Katie supporter begins their pre-approved statement with a false statement! "Somehow I landed today on the Rick Ross forum and encountered this thread on Byron Katie..." Is It True? Oh please! Lets cut the crap! :-) The word is getting out on the blogs about these threads, and senior Byron Katie trainers have been personally notified and co

Hi Jeanne, Here's the answer to your question. A few days ago Katie put a link on her website about some event that Eckhart Tolle and Oprah are putting together in a "webinar" format. Today I was curious about it and went on to Oprah's site to check that out. After that, I typed on Google the terms "Eckhart Tolle Byron Katie" just to see what would come up, and

Someone warned me earlier today that it was just a matter of time before BK's people showed up in here to refute my claims, because that's how these things work, I guess. I didn't want to believe it, but... that took hardly any time at all. If I had any doubts left about BK and The School being an LGAT... they have been dispelled! -jj

Eduardo: "Somehow I landed today on the Rick Ross forum and encountered this thread on Byron Katie and Eckhart Tolle. I decided to offer my two cents." Somehow? Exactly how? Or a ballpark "how". Am particularly curious since you are an apologist for Byron Katie's "Work". And, it would seem, a "Certified Facilitator", as there is an Eduardo list

Greetings! Somehow I landed today on the Rick Ross forum and encountered this thread on Byron Katie and Eckhart Tolle. I decided to offer my two cents. Doing The Work, the method of inquiry that Katie discusses in her books and seminars, has helped me tremendously. The main help it has gotten me is that as I do The Work I notice that it helps me take 100% responsibility for my own happiness

By the way, if one looks down the Google search list for The Demon-Haunted World by Carl Sagan from above, around #12 and #17, there are torrent audiobook entries on Mininova and Piratebay, but they are different in size. The smaller one might be the shorter version? I listened to the audio cassette recording from when it came out, and its Carl Sagan himself reading the book in his unique styl

jj, we have all been there. And its possible to get out, and stay out. Byron Katie is very bad news. The deeper one looks, the more rats you see sneaking around. Its no accident they slam that legal disclaimer and waiver in front of people, and get people to SIGN IT without even reading it. Its all on file in their lawyers offices, and will be forever. She is doing the same thing as all these

Anticult, You are so right, right, right. Thank you! Writing this stuff is really helping me. Reading what you've written is helping me, too. It never occurred to me, but you are exactly right. I did become MORE miserable after the School, and that made me want to keep going back... for awhile, anyway. It didn't take too long before I just couldn't do it anymore... every time

jj: writing all that stuff out is going to help BIG TIME in dealing with it. It takes it out of the realm of confusion, and begins to put it back into context, that is into the context of...gimme a freaking break Byron Katie! Byron Katie might be a blend of crazy, and just crazy enough to make a ton of cash acting wacky. She seems to be just pitching a version of the old silly SOLIPSISM.

Zentient: Great points. I am in a rush, but we most certainly do NOT need to question ALL of our thoughts. That is just a crackpot technique from Byron Katie to destabilize your sense of Self. Its vicious. In cognitive therapy, we do question SOME of our thoughts, to see if they are really incorrect, etc. But its done in a moderate way, quite carefully. Even in Zen, you are not to question

>>Never mind they are telling outright falsehoods with a straight face. They say they are happy ALL THE TIME, which is a lie. Psychology has shown that is NOT possible. THANK YOU for saying that. Whoo... I just realized how I had bought into this believing that Katie is happy all the time. And when I read this sentence, my mind flashed back to all the moments at The School when she

Zentient, I don't know anything about the Unity Church, but I did think it was really odd that a Church would have Katie come do a seminar there when I saw that event listed awhile back. Katie's belief system is so Anti-everything-Christian... she doesn't belong teaching in a Church! After attending The School, I felt like I understood better the message that Katie is trying

QuoteZentient 2) I have been going to the local Unity Church, which has totally bought into Byron Katie. She came to the church and one of the members gives workshops there. This had caused me to question the Unity Church. Anyone know about this connection? Do some people consider the Unity Church a cult? While I have not heard Unity called a cult, it should definitely be avoided. It

A few things about Byron Katie, please give feedback: 1) If you must question your thoughts, you should question ALL of them. Your positive thoughts are equally as "untrue" as your negative ones. Katie forgets to mention this! Why doesn’t she process this with people? I’d love to see her do this - A thought appears, such as: “My partner loves me” , “I am a strong compete

A Layperson's Take on Projection, Power and Professional Psychotherapy When the word projection is invoked, we must ask whether it is used to shame or to awaken. jj, thx for the fascinating info. for what its worth, often just posting/writing can help a person get their own thoughts-voice back, over time. I think you are right on the money when you say Byron Katie gets people to doubt all of their own thinking, so then she can take over. Its very dangerous to start doubting all of your own thinking. What else do we have in life? I can't express

These guys never provide any proof for anything...they are too smart for that. That could get them in trouble. What they do is tell vague STORIES. They all do the same thing. Eckhart Tolle: says he was miserable, then became Enlightened, so BUY his products to be Happy like him. Byron Katie: miserable and depressed, attained Enlightenment, BUY her stuff to be happy like she is now 24/7.

Is there any proof at all to substantiate Katie's story? The mental ward she was locked in? (Or was it an attic?). Anything?

Ralpher has shown the logical-fallacies and methods of those who are shilling for Byron Katie. Ralpher is following the Byron Katie internet playbook, so it does show how they operate, so does that have some value? ----------------------- Looking more into Byron Katie, its actually more disturbing than at first glance. Yeah, he's been messaging me too. I think the apologist are actually very important to this board, however. Vital, actually. So I guess it's up to you as moderator to decide when to draw the line. To whom it may concern: It seems ralpher may be abusing the private messaging system. He is now very close to being banned from this message board. If anyone sees any value in approving his rants and/or attacks let me know, but it doesn't seem to me that he has anything of much value to offer at this point. Here's the deal with Byron Katie. She is a businesswoman and entrepreneur, in partnership with the hubby co-writer. She is a very good salesperson, and manipulative persuader. She claims to have be suicidal for years, and then one day attained Enlightenment by her Magic Technique. that's her STORY. Her technique is exactly the false ideas being thrown around in this thread, based

Corboy, Your description of the cell phones going off on the dead victims of the Israeli bomb attack gave me chills all over. God, what a horrible image.
