pbx guy it's ludicrous on your part to suggest I might have had access to any "reliable source" like a a contract. I can say this. Jim B's father ran the LW publishing/tape bldg. when I contributed my time there and I heard it confirmed by him. He was a fine man and I have no reason to think he would lie. To your point about royalties, I believe there was a time when it was common for artists to buy the rights from songwriters who seldom saw a penny in royalties or rec'd songwriting credit. BTW, I think Beyoncé is presently being called out for stealing. Anyway, if it turned out the whole Jim B story was a hoax, I think I would get a good laugh out of that.
CA I find it odd you never heard this songwriting story about Jim B. as it was widely known in the Valley but since you were stuck in Redlands I guess that explains it.
