Spambot hack attacks...

postscript,
i meant "spambot" - I know what spam is but i don't know what a spambot is;

anyway, I am new to this RR site. I have just spent the better part of three days researching all thing Landmark/EST on this RR webpage, for which I am very grateful. My friend's mind has been captured by the Landmark/EST group - they have an office in downtown Vancouver, BC, and also in Victoria I think. I want them closed down.

I am sure the Landmark(EST)Education Corporation has someone reading these pages, and I am also sure there is probably a person posing as someone who they are not.

I have written a letter to the Attorney General of BC, strongly urging him to launch an investigation into the "educational" courses that Landmark(EST) is currently offering in Vancouver and Victoria. It is my hope that they will be shut down before October, when my friend is planning on doing the SELP course. If she does do it I am afraid that I will have lost her for ever!

I have also written a letter to the Complaint Department of the School of Psychology in Vancouver stating that it is my belief that Landmark(EST) is using group-hypnosis techniques on prospective recruits and participants without their knowledge, as well as doing group-therapy without INFORMED consent.

I would like all people reading my comments here to write to Wally Oppal (Attorney General of BC), as well as the School of Psychology, to ask for an investigation.

Pyramid sales in illegal in Canada, and I think Landmark(EST) is getting around this by using the "bartering system" i.e. getting people to work in exchange for recruiting a certain number of new participants.

I know I have made an inordinate number of posts here, but I am very anxious about my friend and her involvement in Landmark(EST), so please indulge me for the time being.

Hi Rswinters, just to clarify -- are you being sarcastic when you state "judging is negative" or do you really think that?

We judge all the time. We make good judgement calls and bad judgement calls.

But perhaps I misunderstood what you were saying.

Not sure what you are asking me? I am also not sure I want to know?

I have got myself back to a place of calm after much hair pulling interactions on one topic thread. I don't want to go back to that place emotionally.

If I do find myself back into an interaction like the past day or so?

I will remove myself for my benefit alone. I will choose to agree to disagree and leave.

Not sure if this is connected. But earlier tonight at the same time the forum was getting spammed agian.

My McAfee virus scanned blocked a series of invasive programs that was connected to a trojan.

My virus scan it blocked access to this from happening to my computer. Which I was online and connected to this forum only on my computer.

It blocked it from invading from the net, and since my internet connection was connected only to this site when it happenned.

I think there may be someone trying to drop spyware through this link to this sight.

Rick may need to check on this. Or who ever is techny enough to check into this apparent threat that is obviously not comming from this site.

Someone else might be using this site as a gateway to be vicious in embedding a trojan through it.

McAfee and the like also 'alert' over [u:2cbbca2006]anything[/u:2cbbca2006] possible .... as part of bolstering the end user's perception of how much they need the software and hence need to continue their subscription.

The first thing I do with the McAfee software is to remove it.

If you can not open dodgy email attachments, not visit dodgy web sites (porno, music downloads, gambling) and keep your Windows operating system up to date with the security patches ... then you will be right.

If required, run the [u:2cbbca2006]free[/u:2cbbca2006] "Spambot Search & Destroy" and "Adaware" on your system every now and then.

John

You can download the FREE AVG antivirus here that updates everyday.

[free.grisoft.com]

But there are no trojans coming off this site. BUT, if anyone pressed on of the links from the pornspam links, more than likely it will try to install a trojan .exe on your computer from the target website. There are zillions of them out there now.
So never press a suspect link, as it is most likely going to try to install a trojan, or something else.

But everyone MUST have an antivirus at all times, and a firewall, anti-spyware, etc.
Get the FREE AVG antivirus posted above, its good.

Dear Rswinters.

so sorry, clearly there has been a misunderstanding here and I did not mean anything malevolent by my question. I just was not sure what your were saying about judging...this is sometimes a problem with typing, and letter writing, one looses much without tone of voice, the odd chuckle, etc.

Please accept my apologies if I have hurt your feelings as that was not my intention at all.

I spent waaaayyyyy to much time on this forum last night and I was probably tired, and not reading or writing properly.

I hope you won't drop out as I have found your comments helpful and informative.

later,
the shadow (TH)

p.s. How do you like my moniker?

Last night I responded to a request from "eliwig", clicked on his/her profile to reply to an e-mail...after I did so I wondered how wise that was? When I went back to the Forum Index I could not find his/her comment in the index.

I don't know if keeping the e-mail channel open for so long would have any effect? - or am I rambling on about something of which I know absolutely nothing?

I'm a noob, and you can take my advice as you wish.

The spam is a strategy... a strategy to make you Conspiracy Theorists (CT). Think about it. They are trying to discredit you.

The more you say that LGATs are spamming you for whatever effect they desire, the more they can say, "You see, they are conspiracy theorists, they have no credibility."

Ignore it. The moderators will take care of it. If you see spam, as we see tonight, ignore it. Don't comment on it. The moderators or the administrator will deal with it.

If you see spam, don't acknowledge it. Ignore it. Don't feed into their game.

The spam problem is being worked on and will be resolved.

There is no "conspiracy."

Just some software problems that need to be addressed.
