can music be a cult like influence?

If the music I listen to sounds like this, is there reason to worry it might have a cult like influence on me / other people? If it is a cult group, how do I leave? I'm not like living in a commune or anything like that, but this weirds me out.

OK so since all I can hear is crickets chirping, I'm gonna post a link that should show you the red flag were looking for here, so look at this link before you check out that other one and you'll see where I'm coming from.

I think you posted the wrong link. The second video links to a clip of someone playing a video game.

I couldn’t check the links, though for me all music has an influence on us.

If you have to question it, there is a reason for that and only you can decide on it.

It is up to the individual to find the music that is pleasant for them, what you enjoy :-).

Wow, this really makes me think... I get what you're saying. It's strange how music can sometimes have a way of drawing people in, almost like it’s trying to influence or shape their thoughts, without them even realizing it. I’ve had moments where I felt like certain music I was listening to was taking over my mindset a bit, especially when it felt like it was saying something deeper than just the lyrics. I think it’s more common than we think, like when artists or bands start creating a following that’s almost like a family, and people feel so connected to the music that they start adopting the entire “lifestyle” behind it. It doesn't even have to be a physical cult, but the emotional pull can be just as strong.

I actually know someone who went through something similar. They were really into a band that had a cult-like following, and they would talk about the "philosophy" behind the music almost as if it was a way of life. At first, it seemed harmless, but eventually, I noticed them starting to isolate themselves from others, believing that anyone who didn’t understand the music wasn’t "on their level." They started cutting ties with friends who didn’t share the same passion, and it became an issue. It was like the music wasn’t just entertainment anymore—it was everything.

If you’re feeling unsure, I’d say trust that gut feeling. There’s a reason you're questioning it. If you feel like it’s affecting you in a negative way, it might be time to step back and reassess what’s really drawing you in.

What do you think, does the music make you feel controlled or just inspired?
