Please avoid posting large photos.

You will notice that this has an effect on the page, causing people to scroll because of the size of the picture.

There have been complaints about this.

Also, it is not necessary to "pm" as people can share information right here on the thread of the message board.

FYI--There have been complaints that some people have abused the pm system, in an attempt to subvert this message board, i.e. Internet "trolls."

I have heard that the first batch of people to start building this community there started work last september and the second batch is this march. Is there any work going there on the island at this moment? Is Mahadevi stationed on this island or is there maybe another nearby island?

And one question that I can't avoid asking: why does it seem to be a threat to some, that some people want to learn to live without food and drink and be free? Why does it scare you that people choose their "masters" rather than follow the "elected" or "royal" masters they are told to obey? What is wrong with people going to the other end of the world looking for a way out of their rotten conservative ways?

No building has started, no one has arrived with the expection of the two/three people who are here already. No there is no other island close by. Niue is a single entity. I should perhaps point out that it has not been proven beyond doubt that the Maha Devi in Samoa is the same Gabrielle on Niue.

icouldiwill - your question - what is worng? Nothing between consenting adults; but what about the weak, the vulnerable and at worst, the gullible? I couldn't give a stuff what people do with their lives...if you want to pay the ultimate price for doing without food and water - go ahead, knock yourselves out. BUT NOT IN MY BACKYARD!.

Hello,

I recently came across this info on Ananda Health Resort. I am supposed to start working there soon and would really appreciate any updates you have about the activities of the people affiliated. How many people are there now? Can you determine what type of activities are going on? Do you feel like it may be a cult? Thanks in advance!

Well, we've been waiting to hear from someone who already joined these people but no replies yet. Are you on the March batch? If you are PLEASE [b:4cd3598d8f]let us know what's the story once you are there[/b:4cd3598d8f]. The fact is people seem pretty confused about what this enterprise is really about. For me and my friends around[i:4cd3598d8f] it's just a nice job offer on a nice island [/i:4cd3598d8f]and nothing to do anything spiritual. And having seen this forum has been a little confusing but also be aware people like to throw mud at eachother for reasons they don't want to make public. Do not believe everything on the interet. After the communication we had with these people of the health resort it doesn't feel a bit like they are a cult but of course [i:4cd3598d8f]some people are born fearful and will be scared of any such thing [/i:4cd3598d8f]that comes with a long list of things you have to do and have not to do and they'll never leave their home. Anyway, please [b:4cd3598d8f]remember to let us know when you are there[/b:4cd3598d8f].
Much love

Obvious Breatharian plant.

1. This is a cult.
2. Breatharian leaders eat Whoppers, devotees eat air.
3. You can't live on air.
4. Anyone who works for such a group has lost their claim to morals or decency. They should be ashamed.

The complete Original Mission Statement from The Maha Devi Ascension Movement.
It explains how the island will be established, and Gabrielle's expectations of her disciples. (This is now the Ananda Health Retreat.)
You ARE expected to worship her as Divine.
You ARE expected to sever outside attachments and relationships.

So could you please make just any of your points clear:
How is it [b:3a75bf1bd3]"obvious"[/b:3a75bf1bd3] that this is a breatharian "plant" (???).

1. What shows us that [i:3a75bf1bd3][b:3a75bf1bd3]this is a cult[/b:3a75bf1bd3][/i:3a75bf1bd3]?
2. Who is a [b:3a75bf1bd3]breatherian "[i:3a75bf1bd3]leader[/i:3a75bf1bd3]"[/b:3a75bf1bd3]? Who has seen any of these people eating whoppers?
3. [b:3a75bf1bd3]Of course you can live on prana[/b:3a75bf1bd3]. There are many people who live with prana (call it air if you like or chi, qi, vinergy or whatever) meaning they don't eat or drink anythink to support their physical existance. It is just well known for hundreds of years and you haven't heard it. Perhaps you never left your country where the "science cult" has been telling you [i:3a75bf1bd3]not to believe in anything unless it is proved within the current paradigms of science[/i:3a75bf1bd3] (which is so limited anyway).
4. [b:3a75bf1bd3]Why be ashamed[/b:3a75bf1bd3] to learn to live without food? Is this envy or what? You can also do it if you really tried but with this sort of scepticism and faith in eating whoppers all day, you can only get much worry, fear, anger and jealousy; but perhaps no "shame".
What has it got to do with [i:3a75bf1bd3]morals[/i:3a75bf1bd3] to try to teach people to attain a good level of self control, self discipline (you name it) thru fasting or learning to make the most out of the subtle form of life energy? Would it be more "[i:3a75bf1bd3]decent[/i:3a75bf1bd3]" for you if they made McDonald's advertisement to help people slowly kill themselves ?
Anyway, what do you think is in the food you eat that feeds us?

AND anyway,
[b:3a75bf1bd3]How do we know that this is a breatherian cult?[/b:3a75bf1bd3]

Please let us know, please...

Read the bottom of page 13....it is very clear that people are expected to eventually live without food.

Personally, I watched this "master", (Gabrielle/Maha Devi), eat larger amounts of food than her disciples.

When you breatharians can show up on my doorstep, go without eating and spin cartwheels in glowing robes, I might be more amused by your claims.
Until then, this type of "guidance" constitutes a hazard to weak-willed desperate people, and has resulted in deaths...so your support here is on par with suggesting folks play Russian Roulette with a fully loaded gun.
I have no respect for you.

Breatharians: Liberated From Food, Drink And Good Sense
Dr. Dean Edell
Posting Date: 06/13/2000

Original broadcast date: March 10, 2000

It's hard to believe that a no-food, no-water cult known as "breatharianism," is still around and breathing.

Actually, breatharian advocates aren't all kicking. At least 23 people have died after trying to live on a bare-bones diet consisting mostly of breathing techniques and exposure to light, according to a news report in the Skeptic.

This idea of being liberated from the drudgery of food and drink is really stupid, yet Ellen Greve, the Australian guru that first came up with the concept, claims to have 5,000 followers. The stupidity part is evident since she charges $2,000 per ticket to her spirituality seminars that are mostly attended by Westerners.

Breatharianism is a phony, phony concept and I can remember one so-called follower who was interviewed on television and claimed to live without food or water. However, he was followed and spotted going into a local fast-food joint for a hamburger and soda. So much for credibility!

All I can say is you're not going to survive long without food and water, even though the members can drink their own urine. This might be good because people this gullible will be removed from the gene pool and improve the evolution of the species.

Eating disorder experts confirm what most of us know ? there?s no scientific basis for Greve's teachings, yet somehow she ties the breatharian concept to a Biblical philosophy that confers a spirituality to hunger in developing countries.

Well, I'm sure that all those people who are starving in developing countries will be glad to hear they have a special spirituality. I'm sure they'd rather just have enough food.
