There is a letter posted on BK's blog [www.byronkatie.com] , and as usual it is a raving song of praise. For some reason this one doesn't ring genuine with me at all. It is too well written, too slick and simply not very authentic. Usually people who are reading BK's book for the first time, or people that learn about the work for the first time, are not able to apply this system the way this person describes in their letter. Would they go this far, and post fanmail that is self concocted?

A couple of weeks ago, she posted another raving song of praise, that was a scanned copy of a handwritten letter, almost as if she wanted to prove that these letters are for real (as if that would prove anything). [www.byronkatie.com]

'Would they go this far, and post fanmail that is self concocted?'

In the world of business marketing, which is Byron Katie's main business, the genuine untouched letter being published would be the real shocker.
The primary purpose of BK's blog is advertising, selling her product, not dispensing accurate information at all. 'Dave' is probably a professional copy writer and his letter is obviously an advertising come-on.
All's fair in love and business?

See the new blog entry by Janaki:

Byron Katie & Janaki: "She is wacky..."

This was posted as a comment on the new entry on Janaki's blog. I think it says it all.

This post is shows how Katie should take a dose of her own advice.

Since Katie was calling a facilitator wacky several times in a teleconference she gave, according to what Katie teaches, then Katie is the one who is wacky.
Katie is the one who is wacky, when she tries to smear a facilitator by calling her wacky in a teleconference with her colleagues, and also threatening to put her friends out of business too, by blacklisting them from her website.
Talk about a violent intent, to threaten to pull the profiles of the friends of a facilitator Byron Katie is calling wacky. Guilt by association.

In reality, Katie was just using that teleconference to smear a facilitator, and everyone knew who she was talking about. One person was even laughing as Katie was name-calling.

So in reality, why doesn’t Katie practice what she preaches?
Why doesn’t Katie take some of her own advice?
If she did, Katie would conclude as above, that Katie is the one who is wacky, Katie is the one who is threatening to blacklist people, and to blacklist friends of who Katie perceives as her enemy.
Its just good old fashioned backstabbing, but done in front of her colleagues. A smear.

...or perhaps Dave is a related author?

Oh my God, when will this woman ever listen to her own advice and live up to it? These are no more than spiritual marketing blurbs that don't mean a thing.

Okay, everyone, get the popcorn.

Here's a link to BKI's July 22, 2009 Facilitator Teleconference. Please download, forward, spread, share, listen, and learn.

And someone, make a transcript.

What's posted on culteducation.com stays posted. This is also uploaded to wikileaks.com, so any attempts to pressure anyone to remove anything from anywhere will, alas, be futile.

If you have a problem with that, your Work is not done.

I found this link on BK's blog: [www.thework.com]

Just being curious here. Are companies allowed to be for-profit and non-profit at the same time? This would mean that BK does all her business through her for-profit company, which is possibly her excuse to not have to publicly show financial records. And then she still gets to keep her non-profit status where she can receive donations with a possible tax exempt status because she calls what she does 'charity'? Is that legal?

OMG- how can these people take her seriously?? she sounds like a lunatic. Poor Krazie Katie! It makes me almost feel sorry for her...ALMOST. Still inserting her stories whenever she can. So rambling incoherence is enlightenment huh?

Now this might be a dumb question, but-was this meant to be available to the public? Was it leaked ??

How would you define "forgiveness" then? Are all definitions susceptible to being labeled a "spiritual marketing blurb"?, and if not, if you have the one true definition on what forgiveness is, then do share.

As I understand BK's point here, forgiveness means letting go of the feeling of being wronged. Doesn't mean you weren't wronged, but it means letting go of the crappy feelings that attach to that memory/experience.
