Lily Rose That observation was more about what I witnessed in the churches that I was in. That really wasn't about JRS. It' was more the local elders and people in general. I wasn't stretching there, people did have the idea that the women had to be "covered" all the time. I don't mean that the women, as well as the men, should be under the cover of the Lord, mean

For some reason, a couple of times I tried to post something but it said it was rejected because of a hacker alert or something, so this might appear again later, but anyway, here it is again. I was wondering how many of you would consider the Walk to be sexist? I recall in the original Walk, I don’t know about the sequel, but the sisters were considered to be too stupid to make it on their

In the Walk, all the blame went down hill to the congregation. All the praise, all the prayer for, went to the leader. Now what exactly is wrong with that picture? I was in another church large church, 12,000 members at one time, which went to nothing practically overnight due to the leader's sexual improprieties. That leader said in one Sunday service, that the reason he made so muc

Lily Rose said: I agree and I think some of the sexual revolution of the 60's in the world carried over into the 70's in the Walk via our angst over having a religious spirit. I think JRS tried to curb some of that thinking that if it feels good do it by telling us that if you do it you also form a bond with that person (bad transference). That wasn't much of a concern to the yo

The Living Word was not unique in one thing that happens too often among churches. Also the situation that I am going to discuss is explained away as if God would approve of it, which He does not. What I am discussing here, is the thing of the pastor needing a "spiritual wife." Seems like pastors are so misunderstood and under so much strain "protecting the sheep," and "

I really wish that when the Walk changed from JRS to the Hargraves, in other words from the Walk to the Walk, the Sequel, I wish I had stayed in contact with many of the people that I just didn't think of contacting before everybody disbursed. I don't know what happened, all of the churches east of the Mississippi, most of them, just disappeared I think, I think they "got a word&qu

Sorry to repeat what I said about the Parousia, I meant to tell about something else, I had posted that earlier but it wouldn't work because there was some sort of hack alert thing going on. I'll think of it later. Something they were big about in Living Word that was just an obvious mixup if people had read their bibles. Of course there were lots of those. Point being, if people d

John Robert Stevens was constantly saying that MINISTERS ( I prefer the non-chick LWF word of mininstry) but he always said Living Word pastors and elders etc., had a COMMISSION, rather than a POSITION. The point being that "Babylon's leaders were in it for the money or the glory or the power, but Living Word's leaders were commissioned by God because they were so spiritual. But lo

lily rose, also remember JRS always talking about how the word "parousia" meant spiritually present, but not physically present. That is the basis of the belief by many in Living Word that Christ would come forth in the church, in them, that is, but not necessarily literally or physically. Well, if you take a look in any Greek to English interlinear bible, you will see that the word s

Well I would challenge any Living Word church member to do a bible study of "manifestation of the sons of God" and see if there is any other place in the bible other than in Romans 8 that even hints that the "sons of God" are anything other than mature Christians, and I would like them to notice that the concept of any "sons of God" entering into "resurection li

RRModerator, I really appreciate that you caught that about Larry Bobo. I was not around when all of this happened, I do know that I enjoy reading Larry Bobo's posts, have for some time. I think you might be on to something, If somebody is getting on this site in order to complain and perhaps get somebody thrown off, then LIVING WORD people must be reading this, and that is a good thing.

Every once in a while I put a little of everything on my plate on my fork at one time and eat the whole glob at once, just out of a spirit of rebellion. I kid you not, I do this thirty years after the fact.

Lily Rose you have to have a password to buy anything from Living Word. I am thinking about trying to buy something. I have tried to contact them a few times, asking for something that is not shown, and I have never gotten an answer. I am going to see if I can go through getting the password and see if there is a quiz as to what church I am in or if I have a revelation of Marilyn or what to

One last thing, in Acts the 14th chapter, Paul and Barnabas show the correct way to act when someone tries to worship the leader. The whole thing that led Living Word Fellowship off the path was the belief that humans, especially leaders, can become more the focus and God take a second place. That is idolatry. On a side note. I have heard over and over that they were trying to "preserve t

I do not believe that humans are capable of walking in the spirit to the point that can take over everything in the world, defeat Satan, and turn over the kingdoms of this world to Christ at His return. I certainly don't believe there will be any super saints, super apostles and prophets that will become a Christ company or Christ in this earth INSTEAD of the return of Christ. I think Living

Lily Rose, I hesitate to have an opinion as to whether anybody is of God or not. I think more than anything John Robert Stevens was so obsessed with himself and what people thought of him that he accepted a bill of goods with the Latter Rain theology. He saw that as power and a chance to be on center stage. I think the divorce was caused partly by Stevens believing anything the devil told him abo

Lily Rose that is the hardest question I think anyone has asked me in a long, long time, perhaps ever. I am going to pray over that one, and then I am going to answer it perhaps tomorrow. I will only say this right now, I do not believe that anybody is 100% man or woman of God, those that believe that, believe that JRS was deity.

As I read "Reflections from the Wall" a little more, I wonder about JRS. First, I wonder how the write got all of that information. And then, I wonder, if all of that is true, then ole JRS could have been quite ruthless and greedy himself. Some of the stories about how he might have dealt with anyone that questioned him sure sound familiar to me, I have confronted "men of God"

What I really think is the whole idea about "shepherds" making decisions for gown people is a poor concept at best. Anybody that gives their power over to a pastor or elder or bishop or apostle or guru or whatever title you want to give them is going to have their lives ruined. Even if the leaders of an organization are educated it is a bad idea to let them tell you how to live your li

You know Changedagain, what I was talking about, that time we all supposedly bound Satan, that was a special call that all the churches got sometime in the 80s, or I guess all the churches got it, it wasn't on a tape or anything for the "shepherds" to start fasting and praying at a certain time and actually bind Satan permanantly. I wonder sometimes if John Robert Stevens actua

You know, I had forgotten how I was one of those that took on Satan and bound him and threw him in the pit. I could be proud of that if I were not so humble. If there are any little people reading here, you need to remember to give your shepherds double honor because your life is going so good. Remember the word, “Who kills the wolves.” If it weren’t for the shepherds covering you, you would

Changedagain, I remember when that happened. Seems like John Stevens was missing or something for a day or so, people were freaking out. He came back and said he had a vision and was transported into the future. Actually, he didn't have to worry about anybody questioning that, whether it happened or not, people believed whatever he told them to believe. I recall when everybody got togethe

I was reading Reflections from the Wall, it said JRS said that he had recorded one of his visitations with the Lord, only he never showed anybody the tape. Sounds sort of like Marilyn learned straight from the top how to promise proof tapes and never deliver.

The thing that bothers me most is that when I came back from California and let the church here know that Marilyn had taken over and we dispersed, I wish I had contacted everybody that I knew in the area to see if any of them wanted to continue as a church, seek the Lord for what is right and move on. Instead, they all just went their ways. I know where some of them went, many never went to churc

I was somebody that loved a church but did not even know God, that is the way I was when I was in Living Word. Walk 1 disappeared and Walk 2 the sequel came on the scene, I blamed Marilyn, and John Robert Stevens and the absolute insanity of a people that refused to even open their bible who created an idol out of a man and that man ate it up. I was not an idol worshiper as far as John Stevens go

I made a typo on the last post, I was referring to the time when Marilyn was speaking on the tapes along with John. I feel like John was in a decline and she was setting herself to take over then. Also, I was not accusing anyone of anything when I asked the question of whether anybody other than a Living Word church member had anything to do with the body of John Robert Stevens. I do believe

Paleface, I agree, from what I have heard from reliable sources, I think Walk the sequel is much more cultish. I personally have an opinion as to when the sequel began, the date is uncertain, but I think the old Walk ended and the sequel began when Marilyn snagged the apostle to the kingdom. I think that was quite some time before the divorce from Martha. I have no way of knowing that for certain
