Hi guys Some interesting stuff here but isn't it just what we've been saying all along about mind control and manipulation in SMC? It's just as easy to get caught up in the hype in churches as it is to get caught up in the hype of a new movie or a rock/pop concert or an air show - as I did during a red arrows fly-past which litteraly gave me something like a spiritual experi

Hi Rensil YESSSS... suddenly I understand all the relationship meddling. Thanks for that, my memory is not as good as that - probably because I mostly switched off when Miss T. hit the platform. :-) You are oh so RIGHT about that meddling mantle. Biiiig love and huge huggggs xxxx

Hi Squareone Yes, sorry I got you a bit wrong there but I agree with where you're coming from with your observations. There are no winners when the wrong message is being given and only losers. There is way too much looking at 'Myself' taught in SMC instead of selflessness but when you have such selfish leadership it stands to reason that they will be spouting only what they t

Hi guys Sorry, I can't seem to keep my mouth shut for long :-) Thanks Rensil for confirming my recollections of Miss Taylor's teaching. I don't actually remember Miss Taylor talking about it being a bad thing to dwell on the 'dark side' but I do remember many rantings and ravings about demon possession and the need for constant deliverance from evil. In my day,

Hi guys It's true that SMC are against 'secular' counselling and that a person who is troubled, and not of any immediate interest to the leader, should be able to work through their problems on their own. Yes, they will be told to just 'take it to Christ' but, in my experience, the actual teaching of the church doesn't properly address how to spend time meditatin

Hi Squareone Great to see you back :-). You too Blackwatch. I'm going to hold off posting for a while in the hope that more people will be encouraged to speak up. However, on your point about the friend who was not offered 'deliverance ministry', Squareone. In my experience not everyone is immediately pulled into 'deliverance of their demons' and I believe it has

And here I am again with another thought..... On the issue of 'death to self' this is grounded in the Bible but not in the way SMC teaches it. 'Death to self' means stop looking for MY blessings, MY spiritual experiences, MY life, MY wants and needs, MY desires and start looking at the needs, wants, desires, blessings, spiritual experiences of everyone else EXCEPT yourself

Hi again folks Just another thought regarding the '10 Cities' sermon by Diana. I've come to recognise that she might not be so wrong about her name being known all over Glasgow but it won't be for her Godliness or Holiness; it will be for her UNgodliness and UNholiness and probably as a direct result of the wonderful people who are posting their harrowing experiences on th

Hi folks On the subject of being told by church leaders to keep yourself apart from others who might 'taint' your so-called 'holiness', Rensil says it quite succinctly in the previous post: Finally, Jesus travelled far just to speak to, save and set free the isolated, rejected, mad demoniac man who kept pigs in Gaderene and who ran about the tombs naked and cut himself.

Hi again guys Sorry, I forgot that I wanted to relate part of my last post to Rensil's post regarding visiting a sick person in hospital and Lintar123's post regarding the suicide victim. These are GLARING examples of UNholiness, unworthiness, LOVElessness, COMPASSIONless and wholly UNGODLY, and therefore UNChristian, behaviour. Those who followed-the-leader in ignoring the pain of

Hi Folks I'm reminded of the parable in the Bible regarding the three servants to whom their master gave money before going on a journey. Two of the servants went out and traded so that they made a profit and one buried the coin so that it would still be there when the master came home. (Mat. 25: 14-30) The point of this parable, to my mind, is to teach us to share the love and grace

Hi guys Yes, Rensil, I can imagine that sort of scenario myself. :-) It is a sad fact that satan is the great deceiver and he probably has as many ways to deceive as God has to Bless. The mind control and deception going on in SMC is not the kind of behaviour learned from Jesus or condoned by God in the Bible. If it isn't Biblical then it can only be designed to deceive. To my mi

Hi Lintar123 I understand you completely and I understand the poor boy who committed suicide. Right now the memories are still painful but I have been so low myself and the feelings of worthlessness and utter hopelesness are excrutiatingly painful. In your heart, mind and soul you feel unloved and totally unworthy of love and you constantly wonder why on earth you were ever born in the first

Sorry, I'm not quite finished after all.... 1 Kings: 10:1-3 (1) And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions. Hi folks Here I am again, the electricity is flowing nicely now whooopi-doo! It seems that everyone has gone a bit quiet now? Anyway, here's what's been on my mind this weekend, on the subject of questioning the leaders of SMC. Lucifer was an angel, much loved by God until he decided that he was just as good as, if not better than, God Himself. God cast him out of Heaven as

Hi folks Well the power has stayed on here although not everyone in the street has been so lucky. Just thought I'd mention something that happened this morning. Usually when I spend time reading my bible I stick to the New Testament and I was somewhere in the middle of The Acts of the apostles but my bookmark had fallen out of my bible so I'd lost my place. As I was turning page

Hi guys Bye for now squareone and we hope to hear from you again soon, take care xxx. I know sometimes it gets a bit much to keep opening old wounds when posting here and it can wear you down now and then. On the up side, you may well be right about Cedars being free from SMC teaching. One of my son's pals told me recently that he knows a lad who attended Cedars and I've asked i

Hi guys Just another P.S. I found this on another thread on this site and it might as well have been written about SMC: "1. Does a member’s personality generally become stronger, happier, more confident as a result of contact with the group? In an abusive church, the use of guilt, fear, and intimidation to control members is likely to produce members who have a low self-image, w

Hi guys Happy Sunday! Squareone, don't go quiet. There are some people in Struthers who are loving and caring but the problem is that this is not supported by the leaders and more often than not is actively discouraged. However, those who are not 'easily led' will still be able to separate the church from their own feelings of love towards others in need. It's just a p

If Miss T was still around, she would probably be preaching on the evils of latte and cappuccino and telling us that ordinary coffee should be good enough for anyone who was dead to self! That's beautiful but sadly probably very true! :-) xxx

Hi guys It would be great to think that none of the SMC teaching creeps into the school, however I would be very surprised if the kids are not being told something of SMC tecaching along with their normal daily classes. When you understand that SMCers believe wholeheartedly that they are the only ones who know the true answer to getting to heaven and no one else is going to make the grade.

PS. Rensil, when I was young the only fast rules were the no drinking one and the no secular music one. I remember we got rid of our telly when I was about 6 or 7ish but telly became OK again around the mid 70's. Hi Rensil Yes, I think that the majority of the more regular people were coming from the various branch churches in the scottish areas because there were vans run by various members of the congregation to pick up people in most areas. Others would be doubling up in cars etc. (Idon't think anyone came to church with an empty seat in their car either on the way there or on the way home).
