QuoteMsR07Hello everyone. I'm a 19 year old female and I just joined after reading some of these discussions. (Brace yourselves because this post has nothing of substance other than to describe my recent questioning of these principles.) I have been raised on what I've come to refer to as "Bible Doctrine," under Colonel Thieme, and that's all I've ever kn

He seems to say the same things over and over again defending Thieme on and on etc. Do others here feel he is engaged in dialog or just spamming the thread? His contribution is meaningful in that it gives a real clear examp

QuoteGeneZ There was a period when he was reacting to critics, and reacting to what was going on in the country. It was during the time when the Vietnam Anti war movement was going on and the nation was degenerating into making drug use and sexual promiscuity into a accepted way of life. To the forum: QuotebrainoutDo we want to know GOD, or not? If so, then this preoccupation with people must eventually give way to that desire. HENRYL, Thank you again. You have expressed succinctly what I am not able to express. I don't have any theological training. I'm just of average intelligence. All I know is what the Spirit is telling me. When I left Berachah, I was probably quite near to becoming a sociopath. I had been taught all my life that it was a sin to feel guilty. So I somehow managed to stop feeli

THANK YOU HENRYL!!!! We've been overwhelmed with Thieme supporters lately. I was raised there and left in the early 80s. Things are good now for me. God is great, in spite of Thieme.

GeneZ, The same thing can be said of you, "I have seen all sorts of believers who claim to grasp his teachings, when they do not. You do not. So? How can you know if another does? They see it in the same way you do. That does not mean they grasp it. " You think you grasp it and you don't. You have no clue to what has occurred in your little brainwashed head. You are no

I don't need to hear Thieme's doctrines since 1978. I was there every night into the early 80s. And that "every night" routine began in 1968. Prior to 1968, it was only a few times per week because Thieme hadn't started the every night thing yet. But my endoctrination under Thieme began in the early 50s upon my birth. My family keeps me apprised of all the recent d

GeneZ, You are insignificant and irrelevent as far as I'm concerned. You have demonstrated your ignorance of God and His way throughout your posts. You think you know so much, but you know so little.

GeneZ and Brainout, Truthtesty is as qualified as you. He brings a lot of insight into this forum, and I appreciate his posts. You two bring nothing but Thieme rhetoric. It doesn't hold up. I read everything carefully, and I'm not impressed with your arguments. Someday, perhaps you will be begging God to let Testy dip his finger in water and bring it to you so you can cool you

rrmoderator, I do not think that any sound bible scholars would support the teachings of RB Thieme, Jr. He is off-base on many issues, "the blood of Christ" "right pastor" and many others. These have been documented in much literature available on the web and beyond. He has created his own metaphors and tries to pawn them off as sound theology--ie, likening the parts of

Galiban, I am not a "Gospels only" or "Gospels have a higher authority" believer. But come on, if the words come straight from the mouth of God-in-the-flesh, there's something to them. And I'm with Truthtesty on your understanding of objectivity. You're not getting it! I have tested Thieme's teachings and find too many of them false. Therefore, I

QuoteGaliban God will conceal doctrines and truth from those he considers swine (Matthew 7:6). He does not give truth, power and understanding to those who would trample these teachings. Thus God either conceals or reveals depending on whether one is open (subjective or objective) to hearing what the Bible teaches. Truthtesty, I agree that Thieme is legalistic. When I first discussed RBT ministry with my Christian therapist, years ago, he commented that it sounded very "legalistic". Having been raised in that ministry, where I'd heard Thieme criticize "legalistic" ministries all my life, I was really surprised to hear my therapist describe Thieme's ministry as such. He

I left Berachah shortly after Thieme taught that God's justice takes precendence over His love. I had trouble with that one. This was back in the late 70s or early 80s. I later heard that he had recanted that doctrine. How many other people left Berachah before he recanted? How many people died before he recanted? Life's too short for me to accept that any human is an author

Sistersoap, Yep. And your earlier comment about not seeing much "Love" in Thieme followers is something I've noticed too. There seems to be a lot of criticism of any good works. Anything helpful or benevolent is seen as "works of the flesh". That disturbs me a lot. Call me a bleeding-heart-liberal (that's what they call people like me anyway), but I consider
