I also don't know the details of the case or the relationship between the son and mother to know if he was using the cult as an escapism from a dysfunctional home etc. my remark was not meant to make light of parental attachment, which, for better or worse can last a lifetime, but rather that people are rightful in making life choices by 18, mature or not.
