Or maybe the Raelians borrowed it from Summum? I don't know which came first. Either way, to claim you can do cloning is a smart publicity stunt for any cult. Ha :-) The symbol of the pentagram with wings on either side is also used by the Rosicrucians. The Kybalion would be Hermetic philosophy also fitting in with the Rosicrucian tradition, and Summum's described as Gnostic Christia

Yes, that's pretty wacky. I've encountered Summum Bonum Amon Ra before in relation to his re-writing of the classic mystical text, "The Kybalion" -- More on his philosophy here:

As regards their policies on alcohol and drugs, the information put out by Desteni is misleading. In "Alcohol is Rotten Fruit for Rotten People" -- -- Bernard Poolman states, "at Desteni we do not use alcohol at all, it's not even an issue" The Desteni FAQ -- -- however, lists under what "DESTENI STANDS FOR": "Enjoyment of Alcohol: without intoxica

I read the first Ringing Cedars book to see what the fuss was about and it seems to be inane, clichéd fluff; a very silly ecology-oriented New Age fantasy story. The books promote the author Vladimir Megre's mail-order business which sells cedar products. It's turned into a craze a bit like "The Celestine Prophecy" or a lot of New Age literature that is pure fantasy but presen

QuoteCitizendcHere is something that I've though about recently. Desteni is going on about, the children being abducted, raped, abused etc... Why do you think they are not making a phone call a day to the police to inform them of the location of these child abducters / abusers? Surely their "amazing portal" can locate these children instantly and use that information to inform

Quotedsmwell, it is very scary that people go to such effort for him. There are so many farm commune type groups to travel to see, why him? It's Sunette Spies they are drawn to far more than Poolman. She is the Desteni figurehead and has a higher profile than Poolman. It may be that Desteni acolytes identify with her, want to be like her and even imagine that her information is from "

QuotedsmThis is beginning to strike me as much less of a threat of a growing global cult than a localized threat of a Manson-like group, because Poolman does not have the savoie-faire to get past people who watch his videos, while his little following possibly are being treated like an annoying little bunch of weirdos who do not merit much attention as long as they seem to stay to themselves, as

QuoteThe AnticultAnother thing to keep in mind, is that there is no evidence at all, that Bernard Poolman believes his own bullshit about Atlantis, lizards, or anything else. As a matter of fact, since BP teaches his followers that to believe is to beLIEve, the evidence points to Bernard Poolman NOT believing his own ridiculous belief-systems he is selling to others. He claims that "The D

A look at their forum reveals that the Desteni organization is in trouble. So-called "agreements" (sexual relationships that are monitored by Poolman and the group) between Desteni participants are regularly falling apart or ending. People are "crashing" in their "process" and having to start again. Those who take part in any activity at all that does not fit the

QuoteThe AnticultBernard Poolman has made a serious error though, he has until now targeted mainly young people. The problem with young people for a cultic group, is that they don't have much money, which explains why Poolman is getting so irate for more money to come in from Desteni. In one of the interviews with Poolman and others on the Desteni farm done by the journalist from South Afr

The Desteni spamming of YouTube is picking up pace with a new propaganda drive, described by one of the organization's core group elite, Daryll Thomas as the "sub4sub extravaganza" at (Process Support -How to Participate Effectively- Maya Harel). Like everything else in Desteni, this initiative has been prompted by Bernard Poolman. See: (Process Support Sub4Sub) The "sub

QuoteThe AnticultTo the trained-eye, Bernard Poolman is a 4th-rate hack, but he still is running a lot of very sophisticated techniques on people, like getting them to re-language almost their entire vocabulary. As far as I know, the only mainstream media attention Desteni's received is in the Rapport articles from South Africa I gave links to a few posts ago. More of those interviews are here at but the journalist doesn't challenge the group. Desteni began around 2007.

Thanks for your input Citizendc, it's appreciated. Interesting to see how Desteni ensure that everyone tows the party line on their forum. Becoming a spammer seems to be one of the first obligations for anyone who participates in the Desteni "process". Desteni members are encouraged to open multiple YouTube accounts. Bernard Poolman identifies himself as a fan of Hitler, but the Desteni material does not currently deal overtly or in detail with racist, antisemitic, Nazi or fascist ideology, not even the Desteni 'I Am Hitler' series. Yet life on the Desteni Farm could be said to have a similar appeal to the Ariosophy of Nazi real or imagined occult history, an early form of New Ageism: working on &qu

QuotedsmI noticed that Desteny is promoting a twisted version of some peculiarly Catholic ideas about masturbation as sin. According to Desteni, masturbation that employs mental or visual stimulus is virtual "rape" of whoever is being fantasized about and there is not only the risk of turning into a rapist and child abuser but contributing to a situation where rapists and child abuser

QuotedsmHowever, I noticed that every time the critics pushed the destenites on details, a very common reaction was for the destenites to appeal to the horrors of rape and why we do nothing about it, thus somehow proving we are all in need of Desteny's answers, which remain off-scene. I have not seen any Desteny policy that would eradicate rape or some of the other abuses that Desteny claims

There are three articles on Desteni published at é-plaas-word-met-demone-gepraat-20091121 and Reading these via a Google English translation, they give the impression that Desteni is a rather meek and mild esoteric group focussed on the virtues of forgiveness and honesty, as well as helping people overcome their "demons"; as though they were some sort of contemporary monastic

One of the main tactics used by Bernard Poolman is to manufacture a sense of guilt and consequently mistrust as regards anything or anyone outside of the Desteni group process. He claims that there is so much crime, poverty, starvation etc because people won't recognise their own responsibility; they have "accepted and allowed" these things to happen. The upshot of this line of &qu
