After watching the hawkins dvd, i am even more convinced that it is hard to tell a true teacher from a false one. He is very entertaining, comical, had me laughing a lot, he really is a funny guy. He is very charismatic, a good story telller, and insightful. It is hard not to like the guy. He is a tiny little guy too and old. He just laughs a lot an d has a lot of humor. Its hard to see him as th

Further comments on the hawkins dvd i watched. IT started with 6 1/2 minutes of him walking around the room shaking peoples hands and saying hello. I was shocked to see that they taped this, filmed this for all to see. This is bizarre. I have seen many videos of spiritual teachers and i have never seen any of them film the teacher going around giggling and making strange comments and acting child

One of hawkins followers lent me a dvd of his. It is the first time i am watching one of his dvds. It starts off with the throngs of followers wanting to be touched by him. He goes around laughing constantly and talking, muttering to himself, while the audience does everything it can to touch Hawkins (as if he was Jesus Christ). Wow it is amazing to see. Does he not promote this? Most highly adva

PP, ONe thing that came to me just now. You were once a Hawkins fan, a Hawkins follower yourself, involved in the Hawkins cult. You were no different than any of the other Hawkins followers. You went to his lectures, bought his books, dvds, audios. You listened to all of his Beyond the Ordinary radio interviews. You even believed in ktesting at one time too. You obviously got out, but dont be

Is there any database of hawkins calibrations out there that are inconsistent, not accurate, mixed up, changed, etc. I would like to see it and see how silly his calibrations really are. I know there are some databases of his calibrations people believe, but what about a database where it shows the inconsistencies. That should be interesting, huh?

I am halfway through reading all of your posts, and a question about k testing has popped in my mind. I agree that all of the calibrations are nonsense and it is all pseduosceince. However i am a little concerned we are throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Isnt k testing somewhat reliable in differentiating bad substances from good, cant it be used for that, forget hawkins system and map of

Why is Hawkins called Sir David Hawkins on his website? Isnt this a little narricissistic? Or is it an equivalent to a Eastern SPiritual TEacher given the title Sri or Swami or Ji added to their name out of respect? ALthough I do find it a little odd that David added the Sir in front of his name, it is a little awkward and disconcerting. Dont any of his followers find it odd and egotistical?

Hi PP, I have read about half of the posts now on hawkins. It is absolutely enlighteneing stuff you are sharing about hawkins and his pseduoscience. I do not understand how any open minded hawkins follower can deny the information you are presenting. It is so scientific, sane, rational, lucid, and sincere. I know you dont believe in calibrating nor do i, but i do know after reading all of your

PP, It is interesting to read some of your exchnges with those who are devoted hawkins followers. They just will not see any of your points, and they want you to see their points about hawkins. Have you given up discussing wtih them or do you still discuss hawkins with them privately? Have any of them ever changed, or do they all still worship hawkins and accept everything he says as absolute

PP, You said that Hawkins calibrated sceptic Robert TOdd Carroll at 160. THat is very low and non-integrous. I imagine you know about this person and have had some dealings with him. Is he really this low? OR is Hawkins way off on this calibration. Is it just because Robert questions him. Is he a sincere thinker, and open minded, or is he really closed and narrow and sceptical and below 200 li

PP, Hawkins work is clearly pseduoscience, you have established this. He has many cult like tendencies and his followers are very fundamentalist and cult like. Does anybody benefit from reading hawkins or should we all not read him? Do you still read his latest books to see what he talks about, or have you stopped reading him, and what was the last book you read of his. Do you still see him at

PP, you said that Hawkins said Kirlian Photography was true in Power vs Force and then said it was false in another book. Could you please tell me more about this, and why he changed it? How could kirlian photography be false. It is a scientifically accepted thing, right? What the heck is Hawkins doing?

I am slowly starting to read all of the previous posts by you Phoenix Potter. I find what you have to share very thought provoking. I stumbled on one at the begginning where you say Hawkins has a narcisstic personality disorder. That is very interesting and thought provoking. For someone who supposedly has no ego, it sounds very egotistic to me. Maybe there still is some self there, some David le

Another of Hawkins calibrations that is goofy is that of Ramesh Balsekar at 760. 600 + is enlightenment and ramesh is way over 600 and rameshes guru was Nisargadatta Maharaj which calibrated at 720, the same as Ramana Maharshi. Both Ramana and Nisargadatta were considered two of the greatest teachers of all time. ANd hawkins calibrates ramesh as higher than these two, and from what i read, he, ha

I only have a minute. but wanted to say that i talked to a few buddhists recently and they confirmed to me that the dalai lama is indeed enlightened, is a living Buddha. Hawkins calibrates him at 570 only, which is very high, but not yet enlightened. THey made it clear to me that he has exhausted all of his karma and is enlightened. so for hawkins to say he is not enlightened proves his calibrati

Thank you for posting this article. What i find most amazing is the difference between public personas and allegations of abuse across the board for many teachers and even rabbis, who you would never think this could happen to. I guess you cant trust a public persona, in most cases. I dont remember the persons name, but another Jewish rabbi recently had a scandal about him for abusing his student

Phoenix potter you say "you are overwhelmed by hawkins enlightened integrity." are you joking about this or serious. Do you really think he is integrous? Because he wants to delete references to kinesiology, that makes him integrous. Is he admitting it is all pseudoscience by doing this? Should we all dismiss kinesiology too, because hawkins is too. ANd is he really, I still see him usi

You said hawkins lawyers got wikipedia to remove his article about him. WHy would the lawyers get involved in that, and isnt that expensive and a waste of money to pay lawyers to get involved in things like this. Who cares what an online article says about him, what matters is what he is, not what some thing online says. This is all veyr disconcerting to me. Does he have an image he is trying to

Why would hawkins delete all references to kinesiology in his books? That makes no sense to me. You cant delete all the books that are out there, are you referring to new versions, they wont have references to kinesilogy in them. WHat is going on. Hawkins uses ktesting and calibrations in all of his talks, seminars, workshops, books, videos. AM i missing something here. Please explain more.

just as many negative reviews of hawkins works are out there, you can find just as many praiseworthy ones. ONes where they praise him and think he is the best teacher out there. So reviews dont mean that much to me, you will find good ones and bad ones. Even for the greatest teachers of all time, like Jesus or Buddha you will find those who disagree with their teachings. But some of the reviews w

There is over 24,000 views of this thread, and yet very little discussion about hawkins. THere has to be some ex followers of hawkins or those who are questioning him on this forum. I want to read other peoples views on hawkins. Anybody willing to share?

What i find interesting about hawkins having to cancel his european tour is that he is old, around 80 i think, and it is a long trip over there and the travelling and speaking engagements. What was he thinking? He cut back initially his speaking here in teh states, and now he had big eyes and couldnt produce. It has to be a huge disappointment and let down to the hawkins fans over there. He would

I did look at amazons book reviews for hawkins latest book, Devotional Nonduality and I only saw 5 reviews, and all five of them gave it the highest marks, and highly recommend the book. Truth vs Falsehood has many review s that are very bad and dont like the book, but hawkins latest book seems to be well liked like his previous ones, like Eye of the I and I. I only browsed through this book and

The conscious multimedia database site is criticized highly by hawkins followers. They know the calibratiosn dont match their teachers so they dismiss it as not reliable. I kinda like the site and enjoy reading their calibrations on things. There was a guy named Brian Nager who also used to have calibrations up a long time ago on his site and the hawkins followers criticized him too. Even hawk

So you feel Steve Pavlinas forum is the best place at the moment to discuss Hawkins. Are you on that forum? Have you had any discussions with Scott Jeffrey over at consciousness project.org? For you said he is in touch with hawkins. Do you feel he is open minded to discuss this stuff or closed? I havent spent any time at either site and will check it out soon.

They obviously dont realize that many of Hawkins calibrations are off and vary according to which book he published them in. There are no consistent hawkins calibrations. ANd I had to laugh, the Bee Gees and Santanas musi
