Ole Nydahl has never done the 3-year retreat required to take the title of Lama. He is not qualified. He is also banned from many Drikung, Drukpa and Karma Kagyu centres. But by your logic, I could post a PDF on my own personal website claiming to be bigfoot, and that'd automatically make it true!

He is not a Lama, he is not qualified to hold that title. He also preaches hatred, racism, sexism and homophobia. That is completely the opposite of the Buddha's teaching. Diamond Way is his own organisation which he founded and runs, and is a cult.

I couldn't agree more! The harassment and threats I have received since leaving is also very similar to Scientology. I'd say Diamond Way certainly has more in common with Scientology than with Buddhism!

Yes, some streams of Tibetan Buddhism started from Marpa. Diamond Way however was started by Ole Nydahl. Diamond Way is a cult and not authentic Buddhism. eBay has some nice people on it, what does that prove? I'm sure L. Ron Hubbard's books are available on eBay too.

Sam108 - You fail to mention the way Diamond Way groups force members to only date those inside the group. Any couples where one side is not in Diamond Way is made to break up. I have also seen them 'arrange' couples to make those higher up in the hierarchy look more 'successful'. In this way they have more in common with Scientology than St. John's Ambulance!

I have been receiving harassing and threatening phone calls, e-mails and letters from Ole Nydahl's Diamond Way cult members. The e-mails are easy to ignore, and so are the letters somewhat, but the phone calls are harder. I recently had them sign me up to be an escort with several agencies and got calls all week from these agencies!! What would be the best way to deal with this?
