There is no specific course of study. At least not specifically for cult intervention specialists or exit-counselors.

Much like substance abuse intervention people, some have training as counselors, but many began as former cult members helping others leave cults after a personal experience.

Those providing post exit recovery counseling for former cult members are most often trained mental health professionals.
