I have reason to believe my former significant other and father of my 16 year old son is AWOL somewhere inside a group of 2x2/The Way/The Workers/Cooney-ites operating out of Park Rapids, MN.

He left us and moved in with a 'friend' he knew from school and was allowed to live with their family providing he attended home meetings. To the best of my knowledge, he has yet to 'profess' and was allowed to attend as 'an observer' every sunday morning and wednesday night. He was given a hymnal and a KJV Bible. This male-dominated group allows no tv, no alcohol, no women cutting hair or wearing makeup. (Internet porn and adultery is apparently ok, though!)

I am wondering if such a group would somehow support and hide a father within their ranks to keep him 'off the grid' and having to comply with a court order requiring him to financially support his child?

He has formally 'disowned' all of his extended family except for one sister who keeps him informed about everything the 'disowned' people are doing.

At first, I thought because of the childhood 'friend's manner of dress, that they were Apostolic Pentecostals, but after I googled the meaning of groups that require 'professing', everything started to make sense and I learned about the 2x2s.

Any suggestions on how to proceed from here?
