That's very good that CAIC has writings of Jim Moran.
Regarding Local Church lawsuits, in their most recent lawsuit against Harvest House, they also showed their aggressiveness in suing critics. Two authors, John Ankerberg and John Weldon, and Harvest House Publishers published
The Encyclopedia of Cults and New Religions. This book contains 731 pages and includes information on many cults. The chapter on the Local Church has only a little more than 1 page.
Only the Local Church initiated a lawsuit against Harvest House. They were unhappy with the very fact that they were included into this book. They were not against the information that was published in the chapter on their cult.
Before that time, their lawsuits were successful for them. This time many Christians and Christian organizations supported Harvest House. Eventually, the Local Church lost this case.
They began the lawsuit on December 31, 2001. Eventually, on June 18, 2007, the U.S. Supreme Court declined their appeal. This was a very positive precedent because this was the first time when they lost.
Actually, their insistance in appealing to courts was also quite remarkable. They stopped only when the U.S. Supreme Court declined their appeal.
