TOASTMASTER advertized in my workplace. Is it an LGAT ?

Hi,

Toastmaster International is recruiting at my workplace, targeting our managerial sector. This all sounds dubious to me. Any info about that organization? I found out searching the net that some people compare it to Tony Robbins and Landmark Education. Is Toastmaster an LGAT with a multi-level scheme?

Thanks

MD

Toastmasters is just about practicing Public Speaking in a group.

Of course its theoretically possible for some type of LGAT-nut to take over a local Toastmasters and promote his own agenda perhaps.
But in general, its just public speaking practice.
Isn't it free, or extremely cheap?

Unless things have changed recently, Toastmasters is a legitimate program with no hidden agenda and a good choice to learn the types of skills the LGATs like Landmark pretend to offer. Dale Carnegie courses would also be in this category. Neither asks or encourages you to to recruit friends and family, take more and increasingly expensive courses, do "volunteer" work, and neither uses deceptive and/or suspect indoctrination, quasi-religious "concepts," or covert hypnosis, to my knowledge. LGATs typically do all of these things.
