All the news articles point to overall voter apathy, certainly no hint of cult or brain washing.

Straws being grasped?!

i am not trying to make u believe that they are
brainwashing their more liberal people. im not
sure they have any liberal people in the christian right. they are teaching their right wing people
to vote for their republican candidates or to stay home that day.

if u will watch a little news and do some reading
on the internet u will hear it more and more.

"i just might stay home that day "

of course the article u are referring sounds
like they feel betrayed by bush and company.

they do the same for any of their candidates.

they vote according , as the church wants them
to or they dont vote at all.

if they are happy with their candidates they vote
strickly republican. if they are not they will
not vote for a democrat or an independent.
its been drilled into them.

i have talked to many right wingers over the years
in clearwater and is austin they pretty much
tell me they hate the democrats and the independents. one of their reasons and usually
they dont give reasons for their hatred, but when
they do they usually say that democrats ask too
many questions and dont just follow like they do.

i posted another article link earlier today and it
show in 1996 how they were talking about they
"might just stay home that day " if their choice
was to vote for dole.

its there again. if they dont like their candidate they
definately wont vote period.

this keeps the church , and for want of a better
word "empowered " over them

the church should not be telling them how to vote but
how to get close to God.

the right wing church has become not much more
than a strong political organization.

anyway my point is if we all can do a little working
together we will surely see this more and more
in the future as the elections draw nearer.

I'm going to be careful here as I british and a/ our state/church relationship is different (actually stronger) but b/ religious power equals that of streetcleaners. Nieztche had something to do with that somwhere...

My point here is that you are probably right, if you are chrisitian enough to admit it in the uk, you will 'generally' be swinging right. IMO its a wealth/power/guilt thing - why a lot of newage stuff (LGATS and the like) appeal to the upper middle classes - it's their 'salvation'.

I just don't think it has anything to do with LGAT, "Human Potential" seminars though.

But thats what religion has always done, just maybe not so blatently! Marx got a lot wrong, but religion certainly is/was the opium of the masses

Again, it must be because I'm british that it doesn't surprise me. They have lost a lot of power of here, but the church is still the 3rd or 4th largest landowner in the UK - the queen, burn her soul, of course is 1st.

Working together doing what partrick?

Don't think I'm disagreeing here - I learnt to analysis media like you are seemingly suggesting, and certainly the religious and political swing to the hard right in the US is fascinating to watch this side of the 'pond'.

I just don't see a connection with this site - find me a decent political forum and I'll join you! But unless you see evidence of LGAT or "Human Potential" seminars then why is this thread exsisting here?

PM me some of your insights on this though -I personally am interested in your thoughts and observations.

maybe this thread belongs in the church
part instead of the lgat part.

what i wanted for people to do together
was to watch television, read their
newspapers, check out article on the internet. listen to the radio.

we should hear more and more republicans
mention how their people just might stay
home that day.

this way of thinking was brought to them
through their church. much of the american
church has become a money game of sorts.

there are many people searching for truth.
searching that litle place inside that that
wants to know and learn. the church of
course takes advantage of that and
instills in their minds hatred and bigotry.

this in turn has caused many people to
give up on christianity and look elsewhere.

then they find the cults and through the
hypnosis that they are unaware of they
then feel good about themselves.

i believe the american church has opened
the doors for the cults to thrive.

i am a christian myself but i dont hate
everybody who doesnt think just like me.
that is real christianity, not the phony stuff
of the american church.

I would think thats a little too simplistic - money and corruption mixed with - hang on - is the american church a form of christianity? I'm not understanding what the american church is. Is it like the Church of England, or Roman Catholism? Is it a branch of christianity? I can't really continue my point until I know!

Are you meaning organised religion when you say american church? I'm very confused now.

when i am talking about when i mention the
american church i am referring to the christian
right church. its quite large and a very powerful
organization.

the right wing church, the christian right , the
preachers have been using a forum of mind
control techniques on their people.

i have been studying them in clearwater florida
and in austin for years. after talking to several
hundred of them i came to the realization that
they have the same exact answer to my questions.

if they are reciting the Bible u would expect this,
but from free thinking people u would expect
some variation in their answers to some of my
questions.

and again i saw a little pice on one of the
talk shows the other day and i just sat down
at the televison with just a few seconds left
to the show and again another republican
made mention that the members of the christian
right just might not vote that day, he say it
the way most do about just staying home that day.
he did mention that these people would never
vote for a democrat. ok, i have no problem with
who they vote for but the church the right wing
church has put hatred in their hearts for democrats
and independents , along with many other
groups.

if u were to pull up in a van and beautiful woman
got out with a microphone and she was followed
by a man with camera u would get a very different
personna. u would get the bow your head in
prayer stuff and talk about how they want to include
more people in their way of thinking.

on the other hand if u just happen to get close to
one with a camera of microphone u get a completely
different personna.

this personna is one of hate and bigotry.

like i said before if we just do some internet reading
and some news watching and maybe some radio
listening we will hear this more and more before
the election.

now it may not seem to be cultish to u to hear this.
but they have thouroughly educated as how to
vote.

they either like their right wing candidate in which
case they vote for them because they have
been taught to hate everybody else.

i will agree that many of the right wingers
are not all that happy with what their
politicians are doing so we are gonna hear
"stay home that day " more and more.

it makes sense in a politcal way. u get your
people to hate everybody who is not just like u
so that when it comes time they know u will
vote properly or not at all.

the last thing the church wants is for its people
to be open minded.

also this is not good for america.

democrats will vote for democrats or republicans
and if republicans will only vote for their own kind,
they have an advantage.

i havent been wating tv much and i dont usually
do much of it at all but i will find again and again.

hopefully some of u will to and bring here if for
no other reason than to humor me :)
