The issue is not beliefs, but rather behavior. And church leaders that behave badly should be held accountable. Jesus said that many would come in his name, but he would not know them. Thank you for the information about the pastor actually admitting that he was engaged in "brainwashing".

The other obvious and only remaining alternative would have to be that Jesus wasn't Jewish--at least by birth--hence His celibacy would have been moot insofar as orthodox Judaism was concerned.
