QuoteCultconsciousness... I guess a turning point was the Solar Temple collective suicide that involved several French celebrities. This event made me realize that cults were not only fancy organisations with funnily dressed gurus, meditative music and followers dancing in a kind of trance, but that cults can also kill. ... Cults have destroyed alot of people's lives as well. Its not j

There has been alot of controversal and criticism & focus about new religions. In my honest opinion I think even many Traditional Religions (TR) can be damaging and maybe should also be red flag as cults ("cults" in the modern sense of the word). It seems anyone these days can start up a cult and there will be people that will follow them. I dont see why its consider only a moder

It could be. There are alot of groups that are hard to tell they are cults or not unless you have been a memebr of that group to understand some of the hidden "secrets" within the group. [Although I strongli advise visiting groups. Alot of people end up being indoctrinated subconcously.)

I believe there are a number of Sufis that are now saying Gurdjiefs teachings are not related to authentic sufi teachings. "Oct 30, 1998 Re Mouravieff: Some Sufis claims that Gurdjieff's Work is a bastardization of Sufism. Some Buddhists claim that Gurdjieff borrowed many of his ideas from the Buddhist tradition, including Vajrayana. And Mouravieff claims that Gurdjie

Quotemofasonmy main point is i dont think u can judge the teachings of master Samael on the behievour of individuals who use them to abuse and take advantage of innocent people..... But these are some of Aun Weor's claims: "Kalki Avatar of the New Age" "the Red Regent of Mars" "Maitreya Buddha" "the Archangel Samael" "Angel of the Apocalyps

QuoteSearch4TomorrowI have been meaning to post this for awhile, but never got around to it. Earlier this year a group of Feminist Wicaans broke into a number of churches. Urinated on pews and bibles, and deficated on the Cross. Clearly this is a religious hate crime, but I notice ,many people dont really seem to care as it was done against Christians and the attitude is they deserve everyth

Not well said. Its false insertions. A hate group is a hate group. It doesnt matter if they are the KKK or Nation of Islam etc. They are still hate groups and should all be condemed.

I believe certain charismatic psychics can create a form of "cult of personality" around themselves. I can see how certain people can be dependent on fortunetellers (fearing something bad may happen to them if they dont listen to the advice ofthe fortune teller)

Some of these yogis or yoga groups are extreamly cultish. Its when they tell you something like: "You must give up everything for your guru" The red lights in your head should be going off.

There must be other sites where people can download these videos. I'm sure groups like scientology are trying to shut down any and all sites that are critical or exposes them.

I'm just curious. How many of you were offer Free things from a cult or cultish group? Like free food, free meditation classses, free prayer sessions, free yoga lessons, free personality tests etc. Personally I think its a form of psychological baiting where it makes the receiver feel guilty or obligated somehow to return a favour to the group. Its a form of manipulation.

Quotenccg_concern This group potentially being considerable as destructive group, by definition, depends on whether or not anyone is being exploited or victimized by their activities, and/or whether or not "undue influence" is being used. It is not a matter of whether or not they are actively recruiting. I would add that certain groups will try to fish you in slowly and manipulate y

Quotemorco2006 Do you seriously consider the PA to be a cult? I think Kath already made her views clear. Quotemorco2006 ..... Airing your dirty laundry in public is never very nice, some things are best dealt with in private. Hidden agenda? It sounds like there are moltives for silencing Kath.

Quotemorco2006.... The organisers of the PA have spoken out against and exposed charlatans in the Occult world who have tried to manipulate vulnerable individuals, both financially and emotionally. The PA are in no way a cult. "THE PA ARE IN NO WAY A CULT" I dont think the average person here on the board would know they are a cult or not. We shouldnt presume either way

My suggestion to Kath is if you really want to deal with the group then either 1.) Go to the police and file a police report about being sexuallly attacked 2.)You need to find others who are willing testify about their own experiences within the group. If there are sufficent evidence the police will take action.

In fact people who have a -real- interest in these matters should see it as a duty to expose those who are in it for their personal sexual gratification, such as this 'marti
