I guess I won't say that The Mankind project doesn't work for anyone. I'm sure there are plenty of men who find value in it. I'm just saying that those who do are hopelessly gullible suckers. I went to the training 12 years ago at my wife's insistence. Her new age hypnosis therapist suggested it to her when I was out of work and feeling down about failing in my role as t

Ginah, oh my gosh, I know this thread, or this part of it, is 14 years old, so I don't know if you will see this, but EVERYTHING you have written is 100% my experience with my (ex)boyfriend. However, he had been in MKP for a couple of years when I met him. At first, we were so on the same page about communication, intimacy, and partnership. I was so happy to have found him. He introd

Hi, There New member...thanks for the add. In April, I met a guy and we quickly became good friends. From the onsite of the friendship he talked about a group he was in called The Mankind Project. They supposedly are "a global network of nonprofit organizations focused on modern male initiation, self-awareness, and personal growth." My friend would talk some about the organizat

I've done the Mankind project, I wouldn't say it's a cult, just a huge waste of money really. Seems to pray on men's insecurity without providing them with what they are really looking for. At least that was my experience. As for David Deida I think the only real way to know about him is to ask someone who has been to his seminars or listen to the secret recordings of his

I was recruited for the MKP Training Adventure for about 3 years by a friend who was and still is involved. The recruitment was subtle but ongoing. Eventually I went to a recruitment meeting and decided I would go to the training. I was asked not to look up anything on the internet because it might ruin the surprise. I will say that I had misgivings even though I knew nothing about the training.

To whom it may concern: Mankind Project is a controversial training program that has a history personal injury litigation, complaints, bad press and controversy. Anyone considering such training should do research before becoming involved. See Based upon this history I would not recommend Mankind Project to anyone for anything at any time. My view point is mine and take it with a grain of salt. I have done a lot of transformational work. I read these just prior to attending Man Kind project and it actually made me apprehensive. But due to a horrific trauma this was recommended by a friend. Mkp isn't a cult in any way. Seven common myths about meditation Catherine Wikholm QuoteHowever, the fact that meditation was primarily designed not to make us happier, but to destroy our sense of individual self – who we feel and think we are most of the time – is often overlooked in the science and media stories about it, which focus almost exclusively on the benefits practitioners can expect. I made some notes when I got home on what I recalled of the basic sleep/wake structure of the NWTA weekend. It's kind of a weird feeling for me when I realise that MKP is an LGAT. I've been through these forums in the past when I was reading a book called The Sedona Method. I knew about LGATs and didn't want anything to do with them. I had even firmly rebuffed the approaches of Avatar Training in 2011. So how did I end up signing up for a LGAT in 2013? In the scheme of things, I think

Quote Liberty of Gaze In our culture it is considered gaze a little too long at someone. Anyone who can get themselves into a role where they can stare and appraise people singly and in groups for prolonged periods is already in a position of power. People who run these workshops have liberty of gaze. For that reason alone, they can have an immense impact. And that is one reason

Prolonged eye staring is hard wired into us as aggression. And is used to establish domination. Yes! Good point. In fact, to give it its fullest description, prolonged eye contact triggers physiological arousal. I think of it as a kind of fight/f*ck thing :) Anyone who has tried a bit of eye flirting with the ladies will know finely calibrated that dance of power and interest can be. Between g

@newfuture - While I don't feel obliged to defend MKP at all, I'm no-one's conspiracy theorist. MKP's motive is spelled out in their own NWTA Protocol Manual (Version: 2009-03-01): "The search is partially an intimidation process and highly practical because we do not want to risk any weapons coming into the training." Charming. I notice that the forced eye-con

@epyx - I'm not sure if you know this but staring into another person's eyes for a long period of time is a technique for inducing a trance-like/hypnotic state. You have to ask why such an organization would want to put people into a hypnotic state without their permission and what they stand to gain from having people in such a position. You say they don't strike you as nefario

I recently completed a NWTA weekend here in Australia, followed by a "homecoming" event and my first closed I-Group. When I was contemplating doing the weekend, I came across several suggestio

Sample release of liability forms from other groups. If you have to sign paperwork to participate in any LGAT *pause* and look carefully. Ignore pressure to sign without reading it. Does anyone know where the money goes? Direct from the MKPer's mouths, the 'leaders' of the training weekends pay for the privilege. The money certainly doesn't go towards accomodations or food, so who is profiting from all of this??
