QuoteAny diet that talks about having to control your own pH is rubbish. Most people's bodies can control its own pH. The body is an absolutely amazing machine. There are so many biochemical balancing mechanisms internally that promote homeostasis. Unless you are sick or are eating a very strange diet, your body will take care of the pH issue. I'm sure your nutritionist has already told

Not that there is any connection (as far as I can tell), but I think it is so ironic that the subject of the Bahai faith was brought up on this forum. The person I know who was very much involved in Landmark claimed to be a descendent of Baha'ullah, who he said was his great, great, great, great grandfather. In other words, my LE person was a descendent of the divine. I know the guy was a

I don't believe Baha'ullah is worshipped - they worship God. Baha'ullah is a divinely inspired person, whose writings - I have to look up the name - is considered sacred. Bahai is an inclusive religion. Try for info on Bahai.

My Forum leader explained why the Young People's Forums are shorter - because they're more open to the information. He said that as adults, we are always thinking about ourselves, can't focus, want to be right, and fail to take responsibility (like coming back from lunch later). In other words - we want to think critically and digest the info. Kids are more malleable. He said

Wow, Elena. Thanks for posting Grizz's comments. My therapist had me in Landmark for 1-1/2 yrs without letting on that was what he was using as "therapy." I have similar feelings, many, many times, of what is real, what matters. It would be great if I could just start a "new conversation" and throw out all the uncertainty, but starting a new conversation would mean t

Elena, Thanks so much for the link. My naturopathic physician used Landmark technology to cure me of some health problems I consulted him on. It may have helped if he let me in on his use of this "technology". I then went to work for him, an ethical no-no, but being the narcissist that he is, I see how I was narcissistic supply to him. The following from the email excerpt

Psychological abuse is SO HARD to prove. It's my opinion, and the opinion of a lot of other writers on narcissists and psychopaths that it is exactly these types that become abusive psychologists and psychiatrists. They fool judges and even other psychiatric professionals. They leave their patients so confused that it is difficult for patients to report abuse and by the time they figur

QuoteDont' be sad for me. You misread what I said I am not being humilated and if you felt that I am sorry. Express, what I wrote was "accepting humiliation as okay is the saddest thing I've heard. I did not say I feel sad for you. QuoteI guess I was lucky because I knew full well about the interactions therefore nothing shocked me as well as who was leading my forum. L

Express, There is no reason to pay to be humiliated. When one enters into an acting class or is on a team, the participant has ways of finding out about the teacher or the coach. LE does not provide that, nor does it give any idea of how the "technology" is carried out. In other earlier posts, I have made it clear that I think perhaps each forum leader is different - they would

Abuse also produces anorectics, bullies, insecurity, and results based on fear, humiliation and the feeling of not being good enough. Just because other people abuse doesn't mean it's okay. Landmark does not make it a point to let prospective attendees know what actually goes on during a Forum weekend. They manipulate with the expertise of sociopaths. There is no place anywhere for

PD, I rec'd email notification of other posts, but not this one - but if it came the same day as an earlier one, I don't think a 2nd notice is sent. I missed this one. There was some discussion a while back - if you go to the posts "from the beginning" there is some talk about abuse. Contributors to these threads come and go so many times threads just fizzle out.

From Invicta's Narcissism Support Group, this checklist describes my naturopath to a T. I always thought he was an Alan Watts wannabe, but after reading Outrageous Betrayal, perhaps he really wanted to be Werner Erhard. Anyway, he wanted to be the next big guru and I failed him. It's all my fault ;) Narcissism in Action: Followers In my experience, followers, who aim to mimic

QuoteIt was pure, ordinary human life, with no heavy hidden meanings anywhere. And this is probably where est and Landmark got their "technology" which they twisted into 'it's all meaningless." When I think back to pre-naturopath and pre-Landmark days, I was pretty happy. The health problems I went to physicians for, I believed, were biochemical, physiological imb

It's so hard to prove psychological damage that most lawyers won't even consider an initial consultation. For 'victims', it's so hard to explain what happened that it's too late when they finally figure it out. And even then, trying to explain it, the victim looks like a consenting adult who made bad choices and then when the bottom fell out, wanted revenge. THe b

Yes - it's crazy-making behavior, the exact stuff my naturopath used. He was very much into Landmark technologies but didn't feel the need to let me or any of his patients know. So it was very covert manipulation. But he, like Werner Erhard and other LGAT leaders were very convincing. THere are still times when I hear people complaining about situations in their lives that I really

CorboyQuoteThe state of mind investigated in Buddhism requires alertness, but you dont value one state of mind over another. If you're grieving or in pain, you're aware of it, but you let the feeling pass when its ready to pass. It is the same state of mind cultivated by the best martial artists and practitioners of traditional japanese Zen art forms. Very interesting to me when I re

Well, NL, even after doing Landmark, I wonder about a lot of things. They have borrowed and modified, as well as over-simplified techniques and ideas from Scientology via est, a little bit of Buddhism, and as another poster pointed out, rational emotive therapy. The difference between what LE does and what a therapist does is vast. Whereas a therapist, one-on-one, would guide you with compas

Nope, Corboy - It's Sylvan. The MCPW website goes to great lengths to explain what they're not - not time management, not how to write to-do lists. They're not what anyone would expect from a seminar on how to get more work done or find the work you like. They promise breakthroughs though. Hmmmm.

Landmark sent me a brochure for Mission Control (which I inadvertently keep calling Mind Control) Productivity Workshops. Anyone been to one? The leaders and developers are mostly Landmark execs, former workshop leaders, and one who was with Sylvan. is their website. Looks benign enough, but then, so does Landmarks'. Landmark is offering an attractive desk clock if people register by

Karmal - YOU MADE MY DAY!!! I especially liked your Superman analogies because when I read the post that prompted your response, I pictured one of the villains like the Penguin with Batman tied up asking "So, I touched a nerve, did I?" in his smarmy voice. This is classic narcissistic behavior. Avoid the issue, turn it around on the person they are insulting or injuring or scre

Righttofight, If I didn't mention this already, you might want to check out for references on emotional and verbal abuse, narcissism, codependency. Jana, It's hard to prove any wrong-doing. The participants go in looking for help or are vulnerable in some way. There is a grain of truth in the material, which is borrowed from many sources and then watered down. But it is also covert manipulation on consenting adults. One of the difficulties for most people who have had a negative experience, and perhaps even for those having a p
