Yes, thank you changedagain. Jesus even said he trusted no man, because He knew what was in man.

I woke up today in a really angry pissed off mood and I'm not repenting for someone telling me I have a bad spirit. I'm so mad that I was told from the beginning that questioning authority meant something was wrong with me. Heavy bombardment was continuous from those in authority to destroy our inner voice and God-given confidence towards Him which even affected just loving being in our

I'm male, which I guess you figured out. So this was a homosexual attack. Sorry there have been so many additional attacks in this category also as well as so many other sexual categories.

I was assigned to stay at Wayne Barton's place by Anaheim hospitality when I came down for a "feast" about 1973 from Campbell. I was brand new to "the walk" and came down with a group from Campbell, CA for the feast (Passover?). I was in the Army, about 21 years old. I got into a bed (couch in his living room) he let me stay in to go to sleep and he jumped in bed (which s

Changedagain: Yes. I'm sorry I didn't break free much earlier. You and the other old time posters have provided courage for us new posters to help us find our voice, plus what Shalom has done for all of us. I am thankful for you. Leadership cloaked in so much darkness, we are now shining together to burn away the darkness.

YES. Did any of you see a weekly Sunday Newspaper cartoon clip in the 1960's called Hipshot? A Montana cartoonist, so it may have not been syndicated nationally. Really funny cowboy, the whole Montana Prairie, Sunrises and Sunsets was where he attended church.

I'm getting therapy from a psychiatrist regarding my pulpitphobia; chasing me in my nightmares. They have jet engines on them; but recently I had a flame thrower in my dream that burned them up. Thank God they were made out of wood.

Changedagain … thank you. John Sayer in PL brought quite a few words on people having anger management problems. He would read from some author about it over the pulpit (can't remember the book). He would call people out over the pulpit from time to time; to make sure we were all quaking in our boots when he brought a word. I don't ever remember anyone being called out for anything o

It is so weird. I still get afraid and flinch when I think of certain things. I'm actually a little scared right now to share this, for fear John Sayer will come to my house and kill me. Please don't quote me on the following, but the words are pretty close to what was said. One time a few years ago we had a little intercession group at the PL church led by John Sayer. He would get t

I remember Damon Davis on the property and a guy named F Sharp, who was pretty funny as I recall. Damon came up to Campbell once in about 1974 and took a group of us on a field trip hunting edible plants in the country. He told us about a lot of the plants the Indians ate. It was actually a very fun day. We were all preparing for the apocolypse. When I go for walks I still enjoy seeing Curly Dock

Since I found this site, one sign I know I'm starting to heal is I'm starting to laugh again; even at (with) myself, including being kind to myself (and others) when I make goof-ups. It's OK to make each other laugh; no more beating myself up like I was taught to.

Thank you changedagain. I think I lived with you for about one week in July 1976 across the street from Church of the Living Word if you are who I think you are. I was on the top bunk in a little (tiny) house and you were on the bottom bunk or visa versa. Don't remember how many people were living in that communal house. They moved me to Moombeam House from there I think before I got married

Sorry for my earlier "typo". The word "backroom" should have read "bathroom". My "typer" reputation is going downhill. I wonder if Gary ever has cleaned his own bathroom.

My wife remembers printing SOP (School of Prophet) manuals at the Living Word Building but wasn't allowed to collate them because only certain people could read them. She thinks only pastors were allowed to collate them as they were being put together (she asks not to be quoted on that, because her memory is vague on that time period).

Does anyone else remember in the early 1970's when the school of prophets manuals were being printed and people were selected to be able to participate in reading them under the supervision of your head pastor? (i.e.: Howard Klein in Campbell?) When a new one would come out, I think we had to sign for it, make sure we came to class so we stayed in good standing, and not share the book with p

After my wife's money ran out, she got a job at Singer Sewing company in Panorama City for I think $1.35 / hour (min. wage) and still worked full time at LWB in printing. I worked at the saw mill in Iowa and Shiloh for $80/month from June 1976 to June 1977(also got room and board). My wife and I got engaged by letter; and JRS sent me to LA in June 1977 to LWB to work in the printing. That is

To Denise Waller Laughlin: My wife came from Iowa to work in the word work in 1976 after she graduated from High School. JRS talked to her and assigned her to the Blix House and then to the Living Word Building in shipping and printing. She had saved $400 which lasted a year. She would like to thank you for making meals at the Living Word Building, which was the only meal she got during the we

Thank you Reepicheep. So true. I posted on pages 846-849 (one about Gideon's 300). Very thankful for Shalom, and the three courageous women filing sexual abuse lawsuits. I still feel the only thing that saved Peter from his condemnation when denying the Lord was when Jesus changed Peter's focus after the resurrection to making loving and caring for the sheep (people) THE ONLY issue. Not

I think the Marianne being refered to is Marianne Nagy. She was my wife's maid of honor when we were married by David Cokas in the Valley on Sept. 25, 1978. My wife was at Blix for a short time in 1976-77; then we both worked at FineLine graphics from early 1977 to about the end of 1978. I typeset this weeks and she worked in the bindery. Marrianne also worked at FineLine Graphics. She died

Damascus, My wife and I add our love to your marriage. We experienced the "divide and conquer" type of counsel many times over the years regarding our marriage in an attempt to undermine and destroy what God loves, for the sake of wrong authority obtaining control over what was not their right to touch. Your love for year other, and God's love for both of you, I believe is th

To: Changed again, Reepicheep, Prettyboy, Onion and other long time posters, Thank you for your courage and fighting for us all these years, the ones of us that thought the leadership had the same heart as us worker bees. The leadership taught us to believe that by disciplining us, and we were told being disciplined was reassurance of God's love. I now know that is not true. When God show

After John Stevens died, when I would get ready for services in the Valley on Sunday morning (1984), I really tried to be prepared (worship, wait on God, etc.) I hated going, because as hard as I entered in, after the service was over I went into deep depressions; even hard to get ready for work on Monday morning. We felt we let God down by not seeing John get resurrection life, and then not rais

My first son was the same age as Donna Hargrave's daughter. My wife made her baby a quilt, which she loved to do for newborns. We prayed the baby would always feel wrapped in God's love. We never understood how anyone could walk away from a newborn baby girl like Gary did or leave his wife. We went to a baby class with Donna, can't remember the name of it. We believe they both have

Yes. No more fear of man and man-control. Since listening to new sources (i.e.: Bill Johnson, Smith Wigglesworth, and others, but mostly the Bible directly), life has become simpler. My wife and I and three grown sons are all falling in love anew. And lightning has not struck us down. We still don't climb the 14,000 ft. mountains during lightning storms though. God never shames us.
