Given that one of the overriding themes to SGI is "free work," (In which I once faithfully performed for the sake of cause and effect) In my 2 years of SGI I find all of the free work preformed has actually served as a benefit. QuoteThe AnticultSGI gets people to work for free. Many other sects do the same I must confess that I find a disconnect with a lot of postings in regards

QuoterattyboyThank you bobze39 for your input. I meant to suggest that maybe the article was suggesting that all other Buddhist groups may contain a speck of racism and that the Buddhist community at large should look into the reasons why SGI has many more non-whites. You would think the rest of the article would explore the Soka Gakkai after that but it did not. I don't feel inclined to se

Quotetsukimoto And then the SGI and Nichiren Shoshu had their bitter divorce, and Nichiren Shoshu had custody of the DaiGohonzon. SGI members were told not to visit the head temple because the evil priests were there! Yet at the same time, SGI was complaining bitterly that Nichiren Shoshu was "holding the DaiGohonzon hostage!" Please note, the priests were willing enough to let

QuoteShavoyAhhhhh, it's all for one purpose these days. The Eternal Veneration of Daisaku Ikeda. "The Eternal Veneration of Daisaku Ikeda's wallet" is what you mean.... I would actual agree with the points both Hitch and the rrmoderator have made. I left the church years ago long before I joined SGI. I flirted with Islam (Nation of Islam BTW) for a while and decided that

I've actually seen the "actual poop" of the power of the SGI. I keep finding more shakabuku cards in city trash cans. A testament to SGI brainwashing is that they can't see through that singing "Forever Sensei" is mandatory. They don't question the very idea to why waste time singing a pointless song but yet get defensive by cult accusations.

QuoteThe AnticultThat is planned Social Engineering by SGI-USA. It really is. After all, in Japan, there are planned socially engineered SGI towns, right? People live and breathe SGI in those areas, that is the mothership. Of course that doesn't work in the USA, and the west. So SGI-USA studied what works, and what works, is having a type of social community group. After all, a lot of

QuoteShavoyHello, KR....I find the fact that they are still sending you these talking points, despite the fact that they know how you feel about the whole thing, mind-boggling. I let my subscription to the pubs go a long time ago---good thing I haven't missed much---it's only getting worse. But then, go figure, right? They sending me emails is due a total lack of organization on the

With all of that said. People hold the government accountable to when they find that there tax-dollars are going to cronies. And yet the members don't hold SGI accountable for stuff like I posted above. Damn shame...

@tsukimoto - Great point, I had looked all over for any independent claim but it's all just a bunch of "he said, she said." I would argue that NST wouldn't like it any other way. There is no disagreement in SGI frivolous practices but it would be fair that even NST be placed under the same amount of scrutiny today as they were when it was under the NSA umbrella. Quotetsukimot

Please pardon this extensive post and touting conspiracy theories. The over riding issue about SGI that makes no sense and I have an issue with involves the destruction of Sho Hondo. The massive temple (once considered one the architectural wonders of the world) built in the 1970's (I believe) and was destroyed by NST after SGI excommunication in the mid- 1990's. I had read a claim that

Another story where the SGI pretty much snitches on itself. A few years ago I was basically getting by through a temp service. The assignment I was working at the time was at a call center, it wasn't working out so within 3 weeks I quit. I then attended a function at the local SGI center the same day and told the YMD leaders that I had quit my job. So the "chiefs" dug deep into

QuoteThe AnticultThis needs to be explored further. For those who spent a longer time in SGI, where in Ikeda's "philosophy" does he get into the concept that right/wrong don't exist, and only winning/losing? This in fact would explain the entire SGI corporation. Including where huge amounts of SGI money has come from, which is then moved around the world to be "clean

QuoteThe Anticult(complete with a few SGI public-relations marketing posts. Notice how the SGI-USA propagandists stay away from this thread on Cult Education, where their techniques will be questioned and challenged by those with the knowledge to do so.)
