Side note: I remember Catcher In The Rye was required reading in high school. But me, being the poor English student, never read it. But about 5 months ago, I finally bought it and read it. An odd book. I sort of felt like it was a look inside the head of Rick Holbrook. Yes, Silvana is Gary’s current wife.

Note: the effort to reconstitute the LW church in Sepulveda continues. In fact they are working hard at contacting members who have left and convince them to return. I’d love to hear their sales pitch. Free shit sandwiches, oh boy! I have a minor correction to one of your posts, Prettyboy. Steinbeck didn’t write Catcher in the Rye. JD Salinger did. I know, I know. Who cares, right?

Yep. “Holy Hell” is excellent. Their leader reminds me of a gay Rick Holbrook. : )

Here’s a few more lexicon additions: being passive in your spirit And living on tiptoe. Which is living in agressive anticipation for a fulfillment of a word. Note: this was a very stressful way to live.

I recall hearing Roger sing a parody of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”. But he changed the name “Santa Claus” to “JRS”. It was a crack up. But for most of us, too true.

Well. This time of the year is a good time for reflection. I find myself asking this question: What does “healed” look like? I’ve been reading all the posts, both here and on Facebook. People talk about getting healed. Healing from the cult. People searching for a healing. So what exactly are we expecting it to look and feel like? I suspect we will never be restored to the innocenc

I heard a recent worship tape from the Whitestone compound. It sounded just like a Walk feast service from the late 70’s. It flooded me with memories, mostly bad. My take on this group is that this would be a horrible place to be if you wanted to leave it. The isolation is a lot like Jonestown. Thank you, Vennie for posting here. And welcome.

Cloud, I am not sure that is the same Marvin. At one time, Marvin was located in Desert Hot Springs.

The quack in Palms Springs was named Marvin Stein? I recall him trying to treat Jeff & Sandy Hayes’ son for cancer. Sadly, it didn’t work and I often wondered if regular agressive medical treatment would have been better.

Funny. I was just discussing the Shiloh cemetery with someone this morning. We were wondering what the master plan for it looked like since Rick took it over. Would it be like Disneyland? Would music be playing out of hidden speakers? Maybe it would have audio messages coming from the tombstones of key church figures. Maybe a sky bucket ride over to top? Or a monorail running around the

Here’s another vague one: “Break in your spirit” As in “that person needs to go seek God until they break in their spirit”. Or “you need to spank that child until they break in their spirit”.

You know something? Yogi sounds a lot like Marilyn here: Yogi Berra explains Jazz. Interviewer: Can you explain jazz? Yogi: I can't, but I will. 90% of all jazz is half improvisation. The other half is the part people play while others are playing something they never played with anyone who played that part. So if you play the wrong part, its right. If you play the right part, it m

Larry. Maybe we could rent the PL facility for a weekend retreat of ex-pats. That would be one heck of a party. Has there been any thawing of the ice between those people and you? I know John S really painted you up to be satan. I would think most of those folks would be re-evaluating all of that. If I was Jason, I’d have a few long face-to-face chats with you to help that church change d

Onion. You have saved so many of us. Maybe this was your destiny. Setting the captives free. Who knows? But I sure thank God you came along, just in the nick of time. I think the timing of all of this had to wait until Queen Marilyn had passed away.

BTW, Leah Remini’s new season covers the Jehovah’s Witnesses. Wow really bone-chilling stuff. And in a lot of ways, very close to how the LW cult operates.
