kBoy, were you living there when one of the married couples had a child? Natural childbirth? They took the placenta and cooked up a stew for folks to eat. More of that organic Kingdom diet I guess. : )

Typer. I used to hear bizarre stories about the folks living across the street from CLW. Long before the school was built. I recall that some folks lived in a teepee. Rocky maybe? And to promote an “organic lifestyle”, the toilet was removed from one of the houses so you had to squat over the open hole to poop. Kingdom living at its best.

Changed. I’m pretty sure, by now, we’ve all been called nephilim. I recall that was the last thing my LW pastor called me when I told him I was leaving the cult. I consider it a badge of honor, now. : )

Gary calling for a “360 change”. What horseshit! 360 degrees would put you exactly back on the course you were on before the change. I.e. no change at all.

Altar Kent — I don’t know much about the Shiloh cult, but they sure know how to build a snazzy cemetery.

This whole thing strikes me as being similar to the cruise ship Costa Concordia that shipwrecked off the coast of Italy. The captain was one of the first off the ship. To me, this is Gary to a T. Saving himself and to hell with the sheep. Supposedly JRS entrusted Shiloh to Gary. You’d think he would at least be helping out. But we all know he never really had a shepherd’s heart, did he

I can certainly understand that the cost to maintain the buildings (especially during winter) is way too much for the dwindling congregation to cover. Part of me finds this news sad. But part of me rejoices in seeing this cult monument come down. “How the mighty have fallen” I wish Marilyn was still around to watch this all happening. Perhaps she wouldn’t care. Her kids will probably inherit

It sure was a stressful way to live. Talk about vain striving!!! Between the word-word, the intercession, the services and holding down a full time job, it all nearly killed me. Never again!

I don’t particularly care for a message that seems to say to me “forgive now or else” Also, I think the clumps of 15 on the email is a way to control damage in case someone was to respond (to all) with negative statements.

I would think for $40 you would have had a hosted bar and a free commemorative T-shirt saying something like “The Lamp Still Burns In Our Hearts”. Maybe a commemorative shot glass too.

Interesting book “The Shape of Things to Come” by JRS. There’s a reason it is no longer available. Too much unfulfilled prophecies. It must be embarrassing to TLW.

Aardvark, since you seem to still favor the teachings of JRS, you might try visiting Bill Grier’s church in Delta Junction, Alaska. I am serious. You might like it.

Aardvark. I highly recommend that you read the Nichols paper on JRS. Very interesting. And I believe most of his points have been verified to be true.

Aardvark, if you are going to post your views about how wonderful the Living Word Fellowship is, please don’t be surprised if you are not warmly received. I don’t think anyone will stop you as long as you are respectful to others. But please be aware that this is the Cult Education Institute forum. This is where people discuss toxic churches. Most forum members here agree that TLWF meets all t

If they end up moving all the bodies in the Shiloh cemetary to the cemetery on Nutmeg, isn’t this going to be difficult for moving JRS? Isn’t his body incased in a slab of concrete?

This whole resignation and disappearance of Gary Hargrave is cause for concern. I guess he never had a shepherd’s heart after all. So much for the care of the sheep. I wonder if he is related to Francesco Schettino. The captain of the Costa Concordia that ran aground off the coast of Italy. That captain stayed dry and was one of the first to flee the ship in his own lifeboat.
