Well yeah, of course, but looking back I realize what 'drew' me in initially was the appearance that people were actually having fun in church. I became saved in my last year of high school, (The Jesus Movement) and came out of Catholicism right into The Walk but I did not have the Bible foundation to see through it all at the time.

I'm looking back and it wasn't horrible negativity which first attracted me to this. I realized JRS could be quite hilarious at times, with antics and comments that would put the whole congregation into roars of laughter. If it were maudlin and harsh right out the gate, I doubt I'd have stuck around...

JesusJesusJesus, Thanks for your submission here, and I guess I'm not clear on this, but from the looks of the table of contents, you are not the author? Not that it matters, but I tho't you had been writing the manuscript, maybe it was only the lexicon? Anyway, it will take some time to read, but it appears to be very good. Take care, pobHg

To Paleface: ""The feeling of "not measuring up" in the LW is strong, even today with the current word. It took me a bit of time to shake all of that off. With prayer and seeking Him, the Lord convinced me that He loved me even with my flaws and it was OK. All OK. Do you remember the phrase "You're killing John" ? This was said to people who were not toe-i

<Next question--what is, or what was, Impact?> omg.....where do I start? Talk about denial! IMPACT was OSHA's biggest nightmare, and OSHA was their biggest fear/nemesis. One brainchild opened a 50 gal drum of Methyl Ethyl Ketone with a blow torch! A mammoth explosion which felt like a jetliner had landed on the roof!

Does anyone else remember "Let's raise the level"? Usually it was said when silliness or raunchy talk began. Also, JRS was viewed by first-time visitors often as having the persona of "a used car salesman".
