Aardvark, Firstly I do have to ask what is your point to ask these questions? No one here likely will state your viewpoint is not valid. I sure don't. That said, I first came to a service in what was then called the 'Walk' in 1961. I have several different family members that started as early as 1951. Ok enough of that, We both have enough history to say we have a view point. Off

In Iowa, as well as in many states, a concrete vault is a requirement. I do not believe JRS was buried in concrete. I think a concrete vault would have been used.A state permit is also required to move buried remains to another burial site. )

Reeoicheep, I swear there actually were huge red flags! That said I don't think many people there saw them at the time. As they say hind sight is 20/20. Looking back those huge red flags were there the entire time, for over 68 years. So yes everyone of the flag poles at Shiloh must have had a huge red flag waving in the wind that day, I'm sure of it. I still don't remember purple t

I also attended this event, Marilyn's funeral. I don't remember purple, only red. Several very huge red flags are what I remember though! I think everyone of the flagpoles outside were flying huge red flags that day. Thankfully huge enough that I finally could not walk past them. In fact I could not even walk to the graveside. I simply walked to my car along with my wife who was as sick

I may be wrong about the 1,000 acres but it's far more than 200 when you consider Marilyn Farms. HFM owns Marilyn Farms.

kbyrne- Talk about insecurity. I am fairly sure that most of us felt insecurity. I know I did and the culture in TLWF must have made that all too common. Indeed "A pastor that is not approachable -- a big red flag." That could not be more true. I ask myself, almost daily, how many red flags did I refuse to see? Onion - Speaking of the mask of JRS brings up another memory. I, along with everyone else, was told early on not try to speak to JRS after a service or any other time. His time was considered too important for him to be bothered by just anyone. Honestly with him being the pastor of three churches (his choice by the way) and primary overseer of nearly a hundred, I get it that he needed to guard hi

kbyrne, At that time basically no one questioned anything JRS or the leadership said, I sure didn't. It was only later after thinking about all the things that 'old doctor' said that I realized he was the very much a quack. He also collected a fair amount of money,in total, that day. This 'old doctor' was anything but a real doctor. He was a real piece of work. We were 'treated' by him too. This was over 40 years ago. Nothing he said was real and yes everyone in the church obediently saw him. Honestly, looking back now, I have to ask myself if everything about JRS was just as fake, even if perhaps JRS himself believed most of it. The fruit of a poison tree

This is only my 2nd post however I have been reading here for about a year. I first attended Grace Chapel in 1961. I had two uncles who were elders at the time. Since that time I have over 40 years of being affected by TLWF. I guess the word 'affected' does little to describe 40 years in TLWF. I have been out now for a little over two years however the last five really. You can do the m
