Hello again I am working my way through this blog and am up to page 320 where there is discussion of SGI accounts, by Simplify. Like me, an ex SGI-UK member. I followed the link which led me to Charities Commission. It seems that in 2005 SGI UK was removed from the Charities Commissioner List. Interesting and first I have ever heard from it. Does anyone know the reason for removal?

Forgot to add a couple of other things: My Nichikan Gohonzon was given to me at the meeting I spoke about in a first aid room! There was another member who was also having her Gohonzon exchanged. It all felt a bit hole in the corner, like I was doing something shameful. I now know I was. When I left finally last year, I resigned through the SGI UK website, writing a letter to Robert Harra

Hello Mark, I have been following this blog whenever I have the time. I am an ex-UK member who has done a couple of posts. Want to say something now about my own experience of how SGI treats members. I joined in 1985 after being introduced by a friend in Malaysia. I was living in Devon and members were few and far between at that time. I received Gohonzon at a Gojukai ceremony in 1987, from

I had to laugh out loud when I saw this, particularly as an ex-SGI-UK member. Do people really believe Sensei Shorty sends a gift of biscuits or cakes or whatever from Japan the next day after being told there is going to be a meeting? Spot on with the Buddha/Mentor simile. How great it is to be out of the madness!

Thanks for that, StillTaitenAndProud. I will look at that website as well. I am still working my way through here, up to page 199 in my reading and some of it is just hilarious. I will post my experience of SGI in detail at some point. I am in process of re-joining Nichiren Shoshu and feel really happy about it, but don't wish to elaborate any further at the moment. I think it is a gr

See my post above, quote from Rothaus. I wanted to add to this, but it all went wrong! Basically, I want to add to what Rothaus has to say about SGI conveniently forgetting to tell us that we were not all excommunicated. My experience was of being asked to attend a meeting in my area (South West of England) and we were told that we had all been excommunicated. Not a surprise to me, I had been c

Hello Everybody, I just want to express my thanks to this forum and the brave and compassionate people here. My story is that I joined back in 1985 and received my Nikken Gohonzon in 1987. I left NSUK and SGI in 1991 I think because of the Priesthood dispute but returned to SGI two years later, because I genuinely wanted to be able to chant with others and had found it hard to maintain my pra
