I thought it might be an idea to start a thread to copy the lost SGI pages to, so they don't get mixed up with current ongoing postings. I'm having difficulty copying the pages to paste in the original format (by screen capture) - as my computer complains the files are just too big and it would be tedious beyond belief to capture manageable chunks of pages to paste (does anyone have

Quotetsukimoto And THIS organization honored Ikeda? Some honor! I wonder how much money you have to donate to be chosen as World Poet Laureate. It was no surprise to find that WORLD POETRY SOCIETY INTERCONTINENTAL, the organisation that named Senseless as World Poet Laureate, was under his Patronage. Although we've lost the original links, fortunately the webpage that reveals this is

Were there no backups? It is a pity to lose all the research that was posted on here such as SGI-UK accounts etc. But what I'll miss most is the part where Tsukimoto's dog got Honorary Life Membership of Oxford University's Bodleian Library (in the UK). Just like Senseless.

QuotesixtysevenYeah, want to know too. I was never so close to the Master that I received directly a cake from him. Delicious it was, she said, maybe Kaneko had spent hours in the kitchen for cousin rufus icing in gakkai- tri- colours. Imagination and strong faith is required, the yellow buttercreme had exact the same tone as Sensei's fresh face! Sorry to disillusion you, I was delegated t

QuotemehThanks for posting, simplify. The only way to make sure of the vice-Chancellor's affiliation might be to sneak into his wardrobe and see if he has an untoward number of cheap white polyester shirts in there. I found it interesting that Buckingham U. purports itself as a "non-sectarian" institution. I wonder how closely any university looks into partnerships if generous dona

Quote Meh: Ok, so I was curious as to exactly where Senseless had received his degrees and found a list (viva la internet!): I know absolutely nothing about any of the schools outside the US, but don't see any in that grouping that I'd brag about my kid going to. I'm not saying that they are bad schools, but I don't see Harvard, Yale, Princeton, George Washington o

Thanks Peter, excellent articles, I'll keep copies of the PDFs in case they or the links disappear. It is sad that the spokesman mentioned in the 1998 information request gave up his business for the cult. I wonder what became of him?

QuoteWaywardBuddhistWomanI am new to this forum. I have pracaticed with the SGI for 35 years. I stopped chanting a month ago. I have spent the past two weeks reading every post here. It has proved to confirm my growing suspicions and concerns that my involvement with this group needs to end.... I feel very depressed that I have wasted so much of my valuable life on this and that I introduced

QuoteRothausHi there, got a call lately from a cult-member. I was asked if I want my name being being part of the foundations of some sort of a culture centre for "peace" in the cult homeland. It was strange in a way as I was confronted with the cult lingo again --- I asked that my name shall not be mentioned. Strange thing ... That reminds me, does anyone know what happens to all

QuoteUpgrayedOne issue that keeps people practicing in the SGI is this idea that you can change the organization if you see anything wrong. This supposed granting upon members as a proof that the organization is open and this gets people from walking away. ...Let's see how well you actually can do to change the SGI into a normal organization. How far will you have to go? ...I suspect

Apart from my post to Concerned Husband, I've got a few things to add about this organisation which I came across recently. Concerned Husband, I'd be very concerned if I were you. As Innersoundwatch says, cults initially lure you in with positive experiences. Nobody is going to join an organisation that say's it is run by 'living gods' who will use subtle mind control techniques to get you to do exactly what they want, which in this case appears to be give them as much money as they can persuade
