Its funny you mention that Ashbeck, I just saw that yesterday as well on youtube. Its interesting that people can be so programmed as to see the fact that another group is a cult but not thier own. It just shows how powerful the indoctrination is for those who are involved. I even noticed in myself some of the things SelahSelah was saying about former cult members, the indoctrination is so dee

@cult busters - thank you for sharing with us your struggles and bringing to light some of the terrible things that happen in the group. I tried recently to watch the video you posted but it looks like someone has taken it down. From what I read in the posts though it was very revealing. @SelahSelah - I am so happy to hear God has allowed you to move on with your spiritual life. I know how

Hi cult busters, I'm so sorry to hear about your wife and child, I can only imagine the torture it must be to have that happen. I almost lost my kids to this cult too, only I would have been the one leaving them (based on unwillingness to bend on my new beliefs and faced with an ultimatum of bending or leaving). That's interesting what you say about hypnosis, how did you find t

Hi endgame, I want to thank you for sharing this with us (sorry I know I’m a little behind in reading this). I know it must have been difficult to come out and share all of this, but you have no idea how your experience does provide comfort to us who have come out of this cult. You have confirmed by personal experience the suspicions in my heart, and that is a great gift and blessing! I am

Amen!! SelahSelah, thank you for posting that. It is very much needed inspiration, and I'm grateful you shared it with us :-) I need to decrease too, I want my life to shine through Christ. I read a story to my kids the other night, and it was about how shepards used to find orphans a mother to take care of them. They would take a dead baby sheep and skin them and put the skin on the

SelahSelah, I'm not really sure what your question is, I am having a hard time remembering what exactly was in that letter but I think you should not read into things too much that you see on the news and how they relate to the letters. In the bible is where we should be getting the Word of the Lord, and there is alot of prophecy of the end times in there already. Don't let them ge

@SelahSelah - You have been echoing my own thoughts and feelings to a ‘T’! Before being involved I felt kind of secluded too in my faith and definitely longed for Jesus to come back. It’s like a ray of hope when you find someone who you believe to be a prophet of God and he tells you Jesus is coming back (which I had already come to the conclusion was the case anyway), you feel so ecstatic and

@SelahSelah - I am very glad to hear you have forgiven them, God is so amazing that he helps us to forgive those who have hurt us, isn't he? Quote I know I am not good, and I know that only God can save me and that Jesus Christ is the only mediator between me and God. For a while there I guess I got distracted because I thought I needed someone else, another human to talk to God for me,

@SelahSelah - I’m sorry you went through that, it’s difficult to know that someone you had thought so highly of would care so little about you as a person. I also know how you feel, with the helplessness and mistrust. I wonder sometimes if I will ever feel really secure in my walk with God and know what he wants me to do, or will be able to fully trust a teacher/pastor again. The holidays sti

@ ryya - no, I've never had that happen before. In the group I don't remember ever being induced into a trance like state, other than one time I saw a vision that may have been caused because I was fasting all day and had a very stressful experience while I was fasting. I'm not sure what happened really, I'm not even sure if I called it the right thing by calling it a "

@ gracevslaw - Thankyou, I would love to hear any information or experience you have had with floating. I've never experienced it before and so I was really caught off guard when it happened to me. @ Sparky - I'm not sure what happened to gracevslaw, but my experience wasn't really an "out-of-body" experience. It was more like being in a daydream state in a way but w

Hi everyone, I haven't posted for a while as I've been busy with other things, sorry. Just as more validation of some of the things being said about this group and how it relates to cult behaviour, I thought I would let you know I had my first "floating" experience today. I work in an office and we were in a meeting, skype was used to allow one of our team members who

I'm not sure what to tell you frogla, but I can say that alot of what is called "love bombing" goes on in the group. The group calls each other family and its typical to see people giving hugging and heart emoticons in the online sessions when people are joining or leaving the session. I'm not saying it is or it isn't, but it could be just that, love bombing...

I don't believe Tim's experience is supposed to be the rapture, I think its more of a leading up to it. I'm not clear on why Tim was supposed to go but the rapture was not the same event, the rapture should encompass more than one person (unless noone is worthy except Tim of course, but I find that hard to believe).

@ frogla Quote@LLG I'm witholding judgement criticisms etc. So by timothy's standards if I haven't already believed full throttle in the letters then I'm the rebellious "unholy" scum that he is being told to stay away from? We were taught that we should do everything we can to "be separate from this world", in order to become holy and righteous (or holi

frogla, As far as I know it was only supposed to be Tim who would "disappear", I'm not even sure if Amy was to be involved in that. Trent is probably feeling like he has to step it up a notch and "get holy" so he's separating from what he sees as unholy. In my opinion I think he's preparing for the end. I hope you're able to get in touch with him thou

@SelahSelah , Yes, your right. there really weren't any straight answers from Tim. I remember once I asked Timothy a question through a private message on fb, about how I should answer the question of someone in india who was having trouble because his friends said he should be fasting (a tradition in india) and he didn't want to because he thought it would be disrespectful to God. That's interesting, about Hitler. He didn't talk about his past a whole lot so not sure if he had a bad experience or not, he said he never went to church, but who knows. In the group and in the letters, all church leaders were painted as puffed up and proud (which I'm sure there are some who are, but also many who aren't) maybe he had an encounter with a leader who was like

frogla, Unfortunately that doesn't much surprise me, there were a few letters saying he would be "taken" from the flock before the end. Not really sure why though, and he never said. I recently wondered if it may be possible he is fleeing something, do you know if he just disappeared or if he is still around but just not in contact anymore? as for the churches, we were told

LoverDreamer, Thanks for sharing! The charity Jonathan was likely speaking of is an orphanage that is apparently in Nigeria. I used to send money through western union to them as well. Not sure if the money is going to Tim or not, but in the Letters the whole flock was told they needed to give to the orphanages that are "under care of the flock" (there are 3 of them), the leader

frogla, The rapture in some of the bible / letter studies is predicted as happening in 2011. Also there is a letter claiming that there will be no more pentecost which I believe happens in June, and the following is another letter with some explanation in it as well in parenthesis: "Thus says The Lord your God... Behold, the Trumpet I am blowing is revealed to the wise and humble of

frogla, Timothy claims that he and a few others in the group are part of what the bible refers to as the "Witnesses" and he and they will remain completely protected by God (apparently he will at that time be perfectly at one with God like those raptured but will remain to lead people back to God). So they are expecting that those worthy would be raptured (which doesn't even co

frogla, They say that 2011 - 2018 is the "last week" meaning that 2011 starts the tribulation period of 7 years. At the beginning of that period all those who are "worthy" would be raptured and those who still need "refinement" will be left to endure the tribulation. The final return of the Lord would be 7 years later in 2018, but if noone disappears in 2011 the
