QuoteStillTaitenAndProud I couldn't even find an image of the "I like to..." set of board books (for youngest readers) - perhaps I was the only one who ever bought it??? They were something like "I like to chant", "I like the altar", "I like my juzus", "I like to go to meetings" Ugh. I was trying SO HARD to be a good little SGI Buddhist

Quoteholly_golightlyQuotesleepy skunkQuotesixtysevenQuotesleepy skunkI was wondering for those who have actually been to the IKG exhibit, what kind of crap do they have in there? Is it artifacts like a real museum but just peppered with Ikeda crap or more like a creation museum (with the same bunch of crap with altered facts) to make the false association with Gandhi and King? I saw this in Man

QuoteSpartacusQuoteShavoyIs it solely charisma? What is it that makes people go all mushy deferment to one guy? Could there be a more obvious answer? BRAINWASHING! Psychological manipulations at every turn! Dear Leader garbage input - Dear Leader garbage output. I always wondered about this, people have always mentioned his charisma, but where have they experienced it? Only through others

I saw the Ghandi, King, Ikeda exhibition in Manchester once, it was a joke and I felt uncomfortable being there, and at most meetings I was told how great Sensei was and how he was a Master of 'this' Buddhism. Can anyone tell me anything of note that this guy has actually done, no one ever explained what he had done, but to question it was very much frowned upon.

QuotesixtysevenQuoteShavoyThere is really no NMRK anymore, really. It is all Repaying the Mentor the Eternal Debt of Gratitude that is "owed" to him. It is all about praising him--always praise, NEVER (constructive, even) criticizing! Where's the NMRK? It is ALL about Daisaku Ikeda. The NMRK is here. For those who can not see it, you are the NMRK and it illuminates and pe

QuoteHitch Definitely, 100% CULT. If they can't see it, they're brainwashed. - Hitch They are brainwashed and that is the whole point. I'm so glad I got out before getting too sucked in. All the M/D stuff was the most off pointing thing they could throw my way. Other than 'oohhh Sensei he's so great', it was the people who claimed that they were SGI and SGI

QuoteNichijew "He must be suffering SO much."... Ironically referring to someone who left the Gakkai. Nichijew I remember being in a meeting when SGI was talking about someone who had left, they said 'I can't believe that they no longer care about their life'. Loaded language! to make everyone feel like that by abandoning SGI they no longer card about themselves.

Quotejlynneda63Hitch, I would like a book written about all of this partially because as happy as I am to be rid of SGI I still hold a desire to understand the culture of the people I cared & still care about. I don't want to be resentful of a culture because I don't understand it. First off you have every reason to be resentful of the way SGI treated you and tried to brainwash/

Nichiren Daishonin "The second volume of the Lotus Sutra says, "If a person fails to have faith but instead slanders this sutra . . . When his life comes to an end he will enter the Avichi hell" Ok here we go, Faith! The unprovable pointless virtue. So how does SGI try and suck you in on this one. My many questions prompted small groups of seasoned Culture Center Clutch members to venture out to my home to visit with me aka to straighten me out.  They visited on 3 or 4 occasions, as clearly my faith was weak, by Culture Center Clutch standards.  One member told me, “You think too much”, during one of their Buddha interventions. -------------------------------end of quotes---------------

sure it has already been mentioned, in the history of this thread and Nichijew will know for sure what the original source is. I think it was in a book dating from the 70's that it was claimed that Ikeda is a Buddha. Soka Gakkai got in a heap of trouble from Nittatsu about this. Also like everyone else on here, If find it quite bizzare that Gakkai claimed that following the Head Priest w

QuoteShavoy He has the charisma for many who need and want a father figure, . I never understood this, how does he have charisma, no one sees or get to talk to him, to me his charisma is a phantom. It is made up by the org, by people that have never met him, by the leaders who recieve letters from Sensei which make them cry and realise how wonderful he really is. It's all fakery and lies.
