Gans' Recruiting Techniques Deception Recruits brought into the Gans group are essentially duped to believe that the group is benevolent and will enrich their lives. For example, by somehow advancing their spirituality or increasing their self-esteem and/or sense of security. As a result of this deception and the systematic use of highly manipulative techniques of influence, recruits com

I speak not of the Gans/Horn/Klein groups. First of all, Alex Horn is dead. Therefore he is not part of any group. Secondly, other Gurdjieff groups in the Bay Area in the 1970s existed and continue to exist. Thirdly, if you were a member of one or more of these groups, ensure that you are not mind controlled yet. It may explain your attitude. Direct your anger not at member who are here

After World War II, inpired by Nazi doctors' results from their experiments on human behavior, certain agencies within the U.S. government were searching for a "truth serum" (hence the LSD experiments in NY and SF on "hippies") and secretly studied and performed experiments on humans in prisons, orphanages, mental hospitals, universities and jails to learn more about mind

I think all of us subconsciously seek out the familiar. The key is to seek those who reflect the positive aspects of one's background, and avoid those who display aspects that are negatively familiar. Perhaps we seek the familiar in others in order to learn more about ourselves. Coming out of a cult is like being a foreigner in a new country. One solution is to seek out foreigners. The

Whether I am "reasonable" or not is not the question here. What is the point of attempting to describe me? An adjective is only that: an adjective. I did not write that there is a connection between Subud and the NWO. I wrote that Subud would be a good candidate for the proponents of the NWO to use as a new world religion because Subud allows people from all faiths to participate.

"Food for the moon?" That's a new one. What on earth (or the moon) does that mean? A lot of young people were recruited, I believe, to increase the pool of sexual fodder for the older members. These people, of course, had no idea, and are probably still involved, likely impressed with the wealth, local influence, and and intellectual elitism of the older members. There als

MalcolmSingh, The "self-remembering" exercise is a form of self-hypnosis. There is also a phenomenon called "snapping" which is a biological and psychological reaction to cult mind control. The result is a natural high and sense of wonderment which the victim attributes to the teachings of the cult. "Wow! I feel better than I ever have before! This group is great!&q

"There WAS no drug trafficking..." etc. Hmm. Why the past tense? Regardless, regarding the point made here: "Ann Haas has nothing to do with Subud International. It was something she decided to do herself and I'm not sure it's even legal, since Subud is an organization.. Maybe that's where the secrecy lies." It's legal because of the right to freedom

In general, people are secretive because they have something to hide. People rarely hide information about activities that are healthy, culturally acceptable, legal, or harmless. The level of secrecy is another clue. The higher the level of secrecy, the higher the stakes should the secret(s) be outed. In today's culture the types of activities most commonly hidden are related to: -

Someone has posted Haas' Subud group, known as "The Group", on Wikipedia. This brief article needs to be corrected as it lists "The Group" as based on Gurdjieff. I assume a member or former member posted it. Here is the text: "The Group (commune) "The Group is an intentional community, now largely dispersed, in Sonoma County, California, which is based

SUBUD would be a good candidate as the new religion of the New World Order. Like Freemasonry, one can be of any religion in order to join. Bapak Subuh, who invented SUBUD, lead a SUBUD convention in the Hague (the Netherlands) in 1964 which was held in a Masonic Lodge: Queen Beatrix of Holland (the Netherlands) happens to be member of the Bilderberg Group, a major proponent of the N

It's relevant because this is a thread about Subud and this excerpt mentions Subud. There is no reference in the excerpt to Jonestown, which is an extreme example of what a cult is as sensationalized by popular media. Read the excerpt again. It is not popular media. It is an account of how our government has used Subud/a Subud group to its advantage. It is not an account about the pur
