Hello, my name is Morgan. I was moved to post here by reading the concerns of 'Sterling Institute Wives', about the effect of their husbands' participation in Sterling Institute Men's Weekends, and in particular the associated men's groups. I know whereof I speak, as I attended the very first men's weekend seminar, and I was the first male paid staff member at

Here is the article I mentioned in my previous post. Written my Mark Roggeman Notice when you read this how Mr. Roggeman finally points out to all of us how these LGATs all have a common background and are really "interconnected". Note, the Banquet that is given for these men on the last day was food brought in by the recruits and refrigerated until the last day. MKP did not sup

I want to tell you my story. I want to share this with everyone I know. On August 21st 2006, my husband was put in jail for domestic violence and I moved out of our house. I was very torn by this, but really hoped that someday we could make it work. He was released later that week and a guy from church quickly befriended him. He began to see him or talk to him everyday. Mark, the friend, ask

Do you think Artie Kasarjian was just looking for a common word when he changed his name to Justin Sterling? Ellen I have no idea. I've never heard of him before now. Maybe he just wanted something more Anglicized-sounding.

The things I didn't like about the FOW was the lack of confidentiality. But I was warned about that early on, I also warned my “little sisters” so they would not be hurt by that. A woman told me that she had said something in her program about her daughter being molested and someone not in her program told her daughter about her mother talking about her being molested. So I always remembered

I was on the production team for the Mens Weekend in spring 2001. That is the hardest work I have ever done and not paid. I paid to fly up to Newburg to work. I was so indocrtinated with Sterling-ese that I thought I would acheive a goal because we had to have goals even when we volunteer. The problem was and still is I could not understand the wording of the goals and how on earth did workin

Wowwoman: Sounds like you are here to apologize for the group. I have received very serious and regular complaints about Sterling. Anyone interested should research Sterling first before going. See Sterling has a history of bad press and complaints. Sterling is a private for-profit company and Justin Sterling is not a licensed marriage and family therapist. The Sterling Week

OK. I have warned once about a flame war here. Flames are against the rules and if you flame you will be banned. Note: There have been both pro and con statements made about the Yahoo group. There is no need to go and on about the other discussion group. What is important to note is that the instructions regarding how leaders are to run MKP retreats has been excerpted and revi

The Mankind Project (MKP) is derived from EST. The founders of MKP trained with Justin Sterling, the founder of another LGAT The Sterling Institute, before going off to start the Mankind Project. The Mankind Project recruits men to go to the New Warrior Adventure Training weekend (NWTA). At this weekend men will be fed only granola and fruit until Sunday morning. Men will get very little

Hi! I'm writing a story for Elle Magazine about A. Justin Sterling and his Men's/Women's Weekends. I'm looking for people who would like to share their experiences about the weekends and comment on how his messages affected their relationships. I don't need to use your full names and would protect your privacy. I think it's important to include as many voices a

When I read mdiman's postings, it sounded all too familiar. My husband was involved in Sterling for many years, and so many of the "programmed" replies this man is giving to defend the group are familiar. He just doesn't realize how brainwashed he really is. I'd like to shed some light on what really goes on at these weekends, especially since he's claiming that

I know if you disagree with Justin Sterling at his weekend you will be "shot down," to put it nicely. And if you don't shut up his people will show the door. rrmoderator, Have you done the mens weekend or just read posts of people who were happy in their misery? This is my experience from doing the mens weekend. I am a member of MDI now, which is a separate organization. Many people dont like Justin Sterling as a man but the information, training and education at the weekend are incredible. The 20-30 posts at the Rick Ross site from men who are

The following is a list from the website below which may help in investigating the origins of particular groups. The writer links these groups to the Esalen Institute in Big Sur California. I am not endorsing the viewpoint of the writer in its full text, (I have not read it all yet), but am acknowleging the relatedness of the LGATs to each other and their founders as factual. . - Sil

Hi Sylvia, I enjoyed reading your posts. You made some good points but I'd like to clarifiy something regarding your comments/question below: "Justin Sterling, whatever his real name is, has used this fact to create his men’s weekends - unfortunately . . . He’s over-doing it and getting in his punches at women and turning them into evil ‘bitches’ in the way he uses them during

. Hey Hope, Thanks for the info on John Gray’s lack of credentials. I’m not terribly surprised. It seems to be an epidemic among new age authors. Isn’t there some similar problem with Deepak Chopra? I understand that he uses ghost writers too. It’s difficult to separate the information from the author. What we know about an author’s life and credentials really colors how we perceive

A year this Sept/Oct I attended the Justin Sterling Women's Weekend paid $600 just to attend the weekend not including the $$ I spent on hotel. It was one of the worst mistakes that I ever have done. Justin said insulting things to us. He yelled at some of the women and he talked down to everyone. I was amazed at how easy some of the women took his information to heart and it scared me that

The Sterling Institute of Relationship is essentially a spin-off of EST, though it incorporates various aspects of its format from controversial writer Robert Bly ("Iron Man") and John Gray ("Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus). I said a while ago that our buddy dap10 was here on a mission. This must be a very disturbing website, for all of those folks out there trying to promote their cultic interests. Frankly, i see dpa10 as trying to draw out info from certain people on this board, perhaps to then figure out their actual identity. Also, dpa10 looks to "bait" people, and get them going, just to make troubl
