back after a break. Basically, the idea of spiritual maturity within this system can be boiled down to... "There is an outside threat waiting at the door (commies, hippies, russia, liberals, etc. etc. - place Thieme Jr's pet devil here). If you don't make it to spiritual maturity (i.e. keep listening to tapes, or come to Berachah every night we are open), we are doomed."

BarLy, I just remembered that a few months ago I posted on an LGAT group calling themselves Cre8. (Post is on page 4 of this sub-forum). The brochure I read had all the usual warning signs, and was printed in Perth. They were advertising weekend workshops to be held somewhere in or around Northam.

BarLy, Are you referring to Landmark? or a similar LGAT? Last thing I heard, there was a Landmark office in West? Perth. You could try contacting Adrian Van Leen at . Though they are a Christian based service, Adrian is very helpful and knowledgeable about these groups and their methods.

Regarding the 1961 Basics series, If you are intending on listening to this series, and have only just recently come across this forum (and are unfamiliar with Thieme Jr's teachings), you would do well to first become an educated consumer. i.e. first become familiar with the reasons why this is a controversial group, by reading through the posts on this forum, and also by visiting the

I provided this link, because apparently the 1961 Basics series represented a turning point in Thieme Jr.'s teaching. Those of you who were there, would know about this more than I. This series may have been generally sound? Below are some comments from someone who was there at the time:- “Bob had a decided vocabulary switch around late in 1962 that took some concentrated listening

sistersoap, If you go to the 4shared file link (same as the one on page 116 of this forum), there is a pdf file (scroll down on the list) called ThiemeJrBooks.pdf I have converted all the books at the mustseethisone site, into pdf. With contents page at the beginning. The useful thing about this, is that you can type in a word into the Acrobat Reader search item, and it scans for that wo

radaph, This quote from Bob's book, clearly addresses your statement; "never once implied that marriage can't work outside of that scenario," (Right Man/Right Woman). "hell on earth". It is in context, and makes common sense.

(Radaph), “I can tell from what certain people have said about some of his doctrines that they either haven’t heard the whole story or they are extremely biased. Right man Right woman, is a perfect example. I believe whole-heartedly in that doctrine, and it hasn’t destroyed my marriage. It has made it stronger. And guess, what. I believe I didn’t marry my right woman. But it doesn’t matter. Grace

Mile2, Some time ago, I was discussing with a group member taper the old "Right Man/Right Woman" teaching of Bob. They mentioned to me at the time (after previously holding to the teaching), that Bob had later said he was wrong about this teaching. When you mentioned in your previous post that his son Bobby was teaching on aspects of this "doctrine", I was surprised, hav

thanks to all who have contributed to this forum. --------------------------------------------------------------------- May 2006, Hi-- Sorry it’s taken me so long to reply. You are right in that Berachah is a cult. It meets all the criteria of Lifton’s 8 tenets of mind control. It sounds like you have done a thorough study of the matter. Bob Thieme is a pathological narcissist
