OK! I became too prescriptive. Let me state things more discriptively. "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" is hymn #214 in the LDS Hymn Book. This makes the hymn de facto LDS doctrine. I was just pointing out that it is impossible to reconcile or harmonize Impact Trainings with LDS doctrine, as so many trainees try to do. Other LDS hymns such as "Choose the Right," #239

Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, 1807-1882, wrote the words for the Christmas music entitled "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." Verse 4 caught my attention this year as being wisdom on the subject of "right and wrong" as presented in Impact Trainings. To quote verse 4, Then pealed the bells more loud and deep: "God is not dead nor doth he sleep; The wrong shall fail, t

IIAC, You said that your mind is spinning, which is an authentic way to feel after the Impact experience. As the days go by after Impact you will gradually get back to a clear and unwarped mind set, but the experience will always have some residual impact. It does take a bit of courage to put your feelings and thoughts on this forum, but it gets easier with time. We look forward to more exp

I posted the following because the October 6 letter is needed to understand total Church policy even better. It should be clear to all that it is the local authorities of the LDS Church that are given a madate by the October 6 letter to administer the clear policy of the October 13th letter. This clarification of policy/doctrine has to have a big IMPACT on Hans, coming over the signature of Diet

The LDS First Presidency letter, dated October 13, 2010, once again gives warning against "self-awareness groups." There is one new sentence in the letter, in the on going series over the past two decades. This new sentence says it all; "We warn that these programs are not in harmony with Church doctrine or gospel principles." This clear and concise statement is sure to

I forgot a significant happening in my last post. The current First Presidency of the LDS Church has recently restated their warning on LGATs, which goes back to something like 1999. Not all wards had the current letter read over the pulpit this past Sunday, but I'm sure they will as the local LDS leaders get around to it. Could this be a rival explanation for the sudden surge in interest

The hit rate on this thread for the first week of October was down to about 22 per day. For the past 10 days it has jumped to about 88 per day. What could be the reason for the four fold increase in activity? Could it be that Impact Trainings has begun offering two Quest enrollments for the price of one? Surely prospective trainees should search for objective information on Impact Trainings,

Perhaps the following quote from George G. Ritchie, MD. in Return from Tomorrow, p. 16, will help Shy understand: "The insane, of all mortals, seem the most plausable to themselves." I found this to be true for Impact Trainings graduates, and I'm sure that it is true for other LGATs as well.

Steve989 posted this below on the PSI thread. I asked him via PM if he had any information on how Impact Trainings plugs into this historical network, but he said he was unfamiliar with Impact and would research it. It seems to me that Hans Berger was a Lifespring graduate. Also I have seen indications that Hans has had some poor health and may not be active in Impact any longer. Could anyone

No new posts here for over a month now. Reading interest remains active though because by my reconing in the last 66 days there have been 2364 views for a rate of about 36 views per day. This means that a lot of folks are very interested in an objective view of what is really going on with Impact Trainings in contrast to the favorable testimonials that Steve continues to solicit and distribute

Taken from Wikipedia: David Schirmer is an Australian whose career has become noteworthy for a number of reasons. In 2006, he became infamous because of his association with the DVD release of The Secret, a documentary about the concept of the Law of Attraction, a fundamental principle of the New Thought movement which had begun in the United States with people like Ralf Waldo Emerson and writ

Viewing interest on this thread is certainly on the upswing. Back at the beginning of this year, I noted a view rate of about 1187 hits per month. In a very recent two week period I noted 1016 hits, which translates to around 2500 hits per month in round numbers. This is a very high rate relative to past viewing and also to viewing on LGAT threads in total when compared to little old Impact Tr

Kestrel, You have an interesting post here. I would suggest that you copy and paste it into the Impact Trainings thread, being the most read thread here. This would liven up discussion. If you would like to do that and need some help doing it, I would be happy to do it with your permission. This is a good question. I can't answer with any detail, but from what I have observed in LMT trainees I can give you my observations. LMT appears to be a sort of pantheisim. They do a lot to glorify nature. They are into idolatry for sure, with altars, idols of various kinds, and a worshipful attitude toward the universe and nature as manifestations of God. Their concepts tend to becom

# This link takes you to a Lisa McPherson Trust (LMT) demonstration of the dyad process called Training Routines (TRs) used by Scientology. When I viewed it I recognized the similarity of this exercise to the dyadic portions of Impact Trainings. Also the acronym LMT itself rings a bell. LMT is also used by Robbins Research International in marketing the services of their Life Mastery Traine

Above are perceptive comments on the Erhard performance at the Kennedy School. Few sane minds would want to endure much of it. Most of it is irrational, a word he addresses near the end, just before the Q & A. The students speak volumes with their vacant, expressionless stares and the one disjointed question asked. Also the large number of students seen exiting the room before the end say

Recent posts have declared Impact Traings to be evil. What is the truth? I suggest testing by using a framework suggested by the Apostle Paul in Galations, chapter 5:19-26. Impact would have you believe they have the fruits of the spirit, that is: love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance etc. I suggest that they really have the works of the flesh, tha

I agree with the sentiment in the last post where Shermer suggests that people interested in a program should talk to previous participants at least six months after they used it. This is particularly true with Impact Trainings, because it takes at least that long to get one's mind straightened after the processing Impact inflicts on the trainee. I suggest a 10 word plan or evaluation fo

Sensitive angel soul, You said some things that could be expected from the Quest phase of Impact Trainings, but what you said leaves me wondering if this is the right Quest, or some other LGAT that has popped up someplace on earth using the Quest name. Another axiom of Quest, beyond "Don't be late!" is that EVERYBODY has deep dark secrets, horror stories from their past, abuse victimization, etc. that Quest will deal with. It is like firefighters that commit arson to justify their dark purposes. Quest and later phases of Impact Trainings just don't allow for the fact that many trainees had wonderful childhoods and that not

The word "plausible" is so descriptive when it comes to Impact Trainings. Webster says the word means superficially fair, reasonable, or valuable but often specious, superficially pleasing or persuasive (a swindler....then a quack, then a smooth plausable gentleman), appearing worthy of belief. As bababooey reminds us, Hans did just come in as runner-up prophet behind Joseph Smith. I have been thinking about how differenct the LDS Hymn Book might look if Hans and Sally Berger had arranged the first one as did Joseph and Emma Smith. For instance, we might now have hymn 98, "I deserve thee every hour" instead of "I need the every hour." We would probably not now ha
