Corboy! You're back! I haven't seen you in ages. All the good people stopped coming, so I did, too. How is everything? I'm okay. Terrified about the state of our country, though.

I wasn't that high toward the end of my involvement in my group. I was increasingly suspicious of the leader, my life. far from improving, was getting worse, and I was seeing too much wreckage in others' lives. The leader's boyfriend (yes this group was unusual in that a woman was a guru) dumped her for a younger woman (she was much older than he, and much uglier. But she paid the

QuoteBethannThank you for so many informative posts on James Arthur Ray and the trial. I've followed for the past four months, and knew of the problems with Ray four years ago. Tuesday, 9:15 PST, June 28th. Perhaps you'd like to say more about the problems you knew about four years ago? Also, your post appears to have 2 different dates on it.

Absolutely fascinating. American medium Vickie Monroe starts off being interviewed on the podcast Righteous Indignation, but slides into doing a cold reading on the interviewers. She starts throwing out common names, diseases, and life events, but since the interviewers know these techniques and thus don't feed her much information, the reading completely fails. It's all really quite a

Today's excellent, appalling New York Times article about Donald Trump's business practices inspired me to revive Sparky's very prescient thread. I urge everyone to read the article linked below, then pass it along to everyone you know. I did not think I could find anyone more disgusting than James Ray, Tony Robbins, Byron Katie, and all the other scammers, conmen, and frauds we

The excellent article below illustrates the damage the bad advice of Tony Robbins, and people like him, can do to start-ups. It is very tough to start a business, and people who do it are wise to seek counsel. Robbins and his ilk prey on entrepreneurs' legitimate questions, fears and desires-- their goal is to fill their own pockets, drain the company dry, and then move onto the next victim.

QuoteInPassingPerspective: Maybe I should point out the obvious. This thread is for the “education” of those who want to understand the pitfalls of an LGAT. Any moderate, positive view or experience is summarily dismissed. Your misinterpretation, and consequent condemnation, of this thread is not obvious to anyone but you. LGATs and cults are inherently fraudulent. To have a moderate, positi

I found several creepy yet informative videos about Keith Raniere on YouTube. One of them appears to be an old infomercial, starring the actor Eddie Albert, for Consumers' Buyline. (Eddie Albert played the husband in the old TV show Green Acres-- the one that also starred Eva Gabor.) He must have needed money. These videos are a treasure trove. In the infomercial, Raniere uses all kind

Hey Anticult, and everyone, in addition to whatever the Secret encourages people to mis-believe about food and weight, ex-Scientologist Tory Christman thinks Scis gain weight partly because when they get to the highest levels of Scientology they know for sure it doesn't work, but they're not allowed to raise any questions. In fact, the mind control at these levels is so tight they'

Quotealyb45Let me ask you this Christa Do you think US undercover allies in the middle east will want to help the US after these leaks became public? Do you think some might fear that future leaks could jeopardize their safety and identities? I do. I did check out your links. Opinion remains unchanged. Unsurprisingly, alyb45, you missed my point, which is that the US government does n

alyb45, you do not appear to be a victim of media brainwashing; you appear uninformed. Do you seriously not know the vital role WikiLeaks has played in the anti cult movement? That information appears in this thread; you don't even have to Google for it. If the US government is sincerely concerned for the safety of Iraqi and Afghan nationals who collaborate with them, why have they made i

According to their website, they still offer residential programs. At the time of Paul's death, they were planning to continue offering residential treatment. I'd advise anyone interested to call and ask what they offer. Their residential program was excellent, and I wouldn't want anyone to rule them out without checking with them.

It's not the Internet's fault that there are a lot of nuts out there. Your post is not entirely fair. BTR is just a platform; anyone can use it. You could use it. Have you thought about starting a BTR station to talk about cults? Here's a link to a series of extremely informative, interesting interviews with ex-Scientologists, critics, and Anonymous. QuoteSandman If the material on the Meta-Faith website was presented as a TV show no-one would bat an eyelid, they wouldn't say "look out, it's a scam". They may or may not find it entertaining, but they'd accept it was just a satirical performance piece, a black comedy. So Joyce1969's apparently sincere, actually mocking post on this non-Hollywood, non-PR message

Evan Georgiades IMDB page: My first thought is that the videos and website are ways to publicize some truly low-rent fictional work. I bet they've tripled their amount of traffic since the OP's first post. The videos are incredibly lousy. They look like a fairly unimaginative person's idea of what gurus and cult victims are like. It's very hard for advertisers

Everybody, you simply must click the link below and watch Keith Raniere talk about his crack-brained child-rearing ideas and about some new ecological website, Theplanetpride. He's even got a cool new Planetpride lapel button (oddly, he has no lapel) to publicize this site. If only the interviewer could ask this planet if she's proud of Raniere.
