Dear Dingogirl, That was very useful information, as it seems that Abraham followers are very sensitive to the past careers of their two leaders. Any other information that you have on their past careers as Amyway sales people before they adopted their current 'spiritual' roles would be very helpful to this thread.

I have to say that as all of this is channelled through 'Abraham', Jerry and Esther must just think that they are so lucky to have been chosen by a group of spirits that just so happen to be familiar with contemporary authorship rights and the commercial dynamics of publishing! I can't think why so many people are questioning this as a money making con...!

I just wanted to post a reply to Starbright's comments. The fact that most of the contributors to this thread have reached this site by the google search of "Abraham Hicks" + "cult" must tell you that there are some genuine concerns out there. As you say, cults are often defined by so-called godlike or guru figures who proclaim that they have secret or divine sources

I think Sydala makes some very good points here and it confirms that spirituality and well being has very little to do with the money orientated and manipulative methods used by the people discussed in this thread. What I found so creepy and cult like about the Ab-Hicks followers is the way that have internalised defenses against any possible critiques of their faith and these are repeated in

I just wanted to add something to Brad 69's interesting comments. Believe it or not, I have heard of people who despite being in dire financial circumstance have been told by Abraham followers that the Law of Attraction will allow them to win the lottery and solve all their problems. Even after the courts have declared them bankrupt or being on the verge of bankrupcy, they have hung on to t

I just wanted to reply to the last comment and say that if you look at the past comments on this thread, I don't think you can genuinely argue that contributors have a problem with making money in America. What concerns us is how legitimate the advise and motives of this organisation are. It could be argued that a former Amway sales man and circus performer might not be the most suitably qua

I have to say this thread has really helped with the problems I am having with my husband. I would like to know more about Jerry and Esther's past and the Amway connection. I did mention this to my husgband, but he totally goes into a kind of robot like response and refuses to see any past to the pair beyond the 'spiritual' work they do at the moment. Any help on filling in the gap

I just wanted to add my apologies to the sad comments made by Reality Check. You certainly should not have been exposed to this warped way of thinking given your recent experiences. However, I have heard of other people who have either lost babies or relatives and have allegedly been told by the Hicks' or their followers that they attracted this negative experience. I even watched an '

I have to say that the Am Way connection comes as no suprise. The Hicks' have clearly made a fortune out of this endevour. The untold story behind this is that often their followers are brought to the edge of financial ruin following a dream that never materialises.

I totally agree with what you are saying about this enforced positivity that Abraham Hicks followers follow and have found this denial of negative thoughts as one of the most unrealistic things about the whole caper. It seems that it is used as a way of distinguishing and dismissing those non-followers for providing 'negative' vibes when they question the validity of what followers are

I saw this posting and wanted to reply. Last year year my husband attended an Abraham Hicks cruise and since returning, his behaviour has altered dramatically. His contact with so called non-believers has dramatically diminished and the only ever time he is animated is when he utters the words 'Abraham says.' Although I have tried to discuss some of the Abraham beliefs, I am am just rej
