GODHIMSELF: You are behaving like a troll trying to keep people from posting. Also you seem to want to dominate this tread. This thread is not your personal place to offer legal advice and admonish people. As long as people posting here are prudent there is no need to be worried about litigation. The Butler group isn't stupid. They have not filed a frivolous lawsuit against this mes

Speaking as someone who has experienced numerous legal threats and gone through protracted legal battles you are safe if you get the facts right and make it clear when you are expressing an opinion. For example, you can say "In my opinion," "It seems to me," or when you are not abso

Seems like there may be some trolls here. Apparently the Mooji group is concerned. This must mean that this thread makes them uncomfortable. IMO that's a great compliment to the people that have built this thread.

To whom it may concern: This thread is drawing attention and it seems some trolling. People posting here must stay within the rules. No victim blaming and shaming. No ad hominem personal attacks. And please stop the speculation about lawsuits. It's totally ridiculous and unwarranted. The Cult Education Institute has been sued five times. All five lawsuits ended in dismissa

Please understand that this message board and the Cult Education Institute has been sued five times after such threats were made. All the the lawsuits were dismissed and none went to trial. One group (Gentle Wind Project) was subsequently investigated and shut

Please try to be respectful. This thread is being trolled. Apparently Mooji people are concerned enough to do that. Not everyone that has left the group and is critical will agree on everything. The focus of this thread is -- Is Mooji a cult of personality? And what behavior within the group is negative and/or destructive? Are people being hurt. Please focus on the core subject not

And they might be offended or put off by something that you think is funny, but they feel is hurtful. Everyone must respect that each person posting here is coming from their own place, space and situation. Everyone is not at the same place in recovery.

Gwen: Momentus has a troubled history and is an LGAT (large group awareness training). See This book has two chapters specifically about LGATs like Momentus, which can help you to sort through the issues. It is carefully researched with extensive footnotes and bibliography. I am sorry to learn of your situation.

To whom it may concern, If you have an opinion state -- In my opinion. If you are not absolutely sure about a detail you can say -- it appears to me, apparently, it seems to me, etc. These are important distinctions. Specifically qualifying what you say in this way makes it very difficult, even for a litigious group, to have any meaningful basis to make a claim regarding defamation.

Wombat. The single most salient principle that explains the seeming inconsistencies of an authoritarian leader's behavior is that it's all about control. That is, authoritarian leaders of groups called "cults" like what they control and don't like what they likely cannot control. So people that the leader thinks are problematic and/or difficult to control may be

Neo, I am very sorry for the children that were raised in destructive cults. You are right they have no choice and this is a terrible thing. But there is such a thing as coercive persuasion and influence used to gain undue influence over people. The leadership, which knowingly used such techniques to break down the critical thinking of members did that. Blaming the victims of such coerc

Yes. The problem with not taking mental health seriously enough is that various gurus push people through intense meditation, exercises, cathartic confessions, etc. to a breaking point. And gurus are not typically licensed mental health professionals. So when they have seminars or sessions they have no meaningful education to inform them when someone is too fragile psychologically and when the

Horowitz: Watching the video was interesting. Mooji reminds me of Bhagwan Shree Rajneesh. Almost like Moo is copying the presentation style of Rajneesh. But of course Rajneesh was better at being a "guru" and far more notable. Historically Rajneesh was known to have exploited his devotees. For example he owned 90 Rolls Royces and there were allegations of sexual misconduct.
