Question: What does justice look like for you? What would the eventual outcome of, say this site and anything else other ex-members choose to do ideally be for you? I'm with anyone else on this board who would like to see justice for everything i've been through. But i don't know what it would look like. I guess i would like the place to be completely broken up, for the truth to

I grew up in the sunday school at kcf yetigoose. To say mary watts was feared wud be an understatement. Feared and hated- if u were put in her group then you'd drawn the short straw! I don't remember any of the kids sayin nice things about her- even her own kids didnt like her. In meetings you'd never want to sit in direct eye-line with her, coz you knew she'd be watchin u to

Cheryl slags off most people she meets it seems- including her own congregation. A few years ago she was teachin on a sunday and she said that she'd seen this person lookin well scruff an a general mess in town- like wearin stuff from a charity shop (im not dissin charity shops- it was jus what she said) and she said that lookin at her, u just knew she was a christian and then she drove pa

To make an official complaint to the charity commission which will spark off an investigation we would have to prove a few things, from memory they include:  Details of previous contact with the organisation to try and address your concerns. Proof that it is harmful to the community  Proof that it doesn't do what it declares it should be doing. There are more

Jus to nit-pick but that scripture is actually in john 3:16 (not matt) Abigail1977, if there is one truth that stand when all else is stripped away, it is that God loves us, full stop. I firmly beleive that God did not cause your cancer. its not a chatisement from God. It sounds like the people in that place were extreemly paranoid. In zephaniah 3:17 it tells us that God will quiet us wi

Onlyme- way to go finding their charity number, I searched but cudnt get it. To all those looking on the charity-commission site, its quite a confusing site to navigate (in my mind anyway) and you've gotta look how to make an official complaint. But along with that thers all sorts of other links to different parts of the rules, but bear with it and try an read it so you can understand what n

BBC- sounds like u've had a really productive time away. I'm very glad that your life is now on 'play' and you've been making amends with a few people. Jus proves once again that life does not end when you leave the fellowship- it truly begins. Han P.S If you write to Liverpool Writer- please also include any details if you've ever tried to contact the leaders

What is so shockin is that they just out an out say- ur gonna get messed up, and people just went along with it! Ive had a look on the charity commisions website and I'm almost certain we have more than sufficient grounds to make a complaint to start an investigation. This forum alone is evidence enough that they are harmful to the community and should never have been registered as a char

it is not for us to feel guilty, and bad because of our inaction. If, when you were there you would ave done somethin, then u only would ave got punished and if u adn't ave left then, you would have gone back in longing for acceptance again and ended up in a worse state that u r now. Leadership in the fellowship is an illusion, leaders are only minions who cant think for themselves and are

The experience that i mentioned before- it really hasn't damaged me much, it was the other things that went on that did the most damage. I can laugh about some of it coz its so ridiculous. I do still have my pains like, i was hurt a lot but you leave, you grieve and you learn from it- otherwise all them tears were pointless. I lost out on a happy childhood because of them and i am sad about

Cheers for the update L.pool W. ive been readin all of your experiences- just shows that you have no idea of whats goin on, an u think that its all just happenin to u. I'm glad we can all now realise that we wernt just singled out coz we wer awful people- it was coz they r awful people. I remember, musta been when i was about 10 i think, possibly even younger. I used to think about things

nicely said bbc. I found church hard for a long while after leaving, and still am pretty cynical i suppose, i cant jus go to a church and accept it, i critique it all- how the worship is, what the preacher says, how it all 'feels' etc etc. It's a defencec mechanism i suppose, and although it can be annoying in some ways its good- i could never let myself fall into a KCF trap again.

I don't hold the same beliefs as I had when i was in there onlyme- if i did then i'd still be decieved. When i left i felt sort of like i didn't know what to believe anymore, i didnt no which bits were true an what wasnt. So i think i basicly said that everythin they taught was a lie and i had to relearn what it all was. Fortunately whilst i was in there because i was rebellin i

In an effort to quench any hostilities: Let us remember what this forum is about- sharing your experiences, finding that you were not alone and being productive in getting past the hurts. In one way or another everyone in this thread has been affected by KCF. Lets keep that in perspective. We've all been through difficult things- getting at eachother is just going to divide us up when a go

Over the past few months I've been fortunate enough to be somewhat involved in the setting up of a charity where I work. In my understanding, one of the conditions of a charity is that they have to have a 'board' of people including a chair, a director, a secretary and a treasurer as well as like at least three other members (i think). They also have to have regular meetings about

Hi vik316- I'm also pretty new and don't post a whole lot but welcome! This is quite a good forum to find out and understand a bit more about cults- there are also a good number of articles on the main site about cults if you haven't seen them yet. Do you have any experience of cults or are you just interested? Firefly.

i also have trouble with forgiveness abigail1977- its so hard when i think off all they robbed me of an what they did to other people, its hard. I think the lack of any kind of remorse also makes it tough to forgive. But i think choosing to forgive them and then walking in that helps a lot. Even though its hard. I'm glad that you now know God as love n not the maniac they made him out t

broken- i am so sorry for what happened to you- i understand what it feels like. But kirkby christian fellowship did not distroy my life- to let them completely destroy me is to let them win. You said that you spoke out the truth, so realise the truth- you can either let them destroy you and your faith an a million other things, or you can keep going, get stronger and slowly start to heal. Abigail1977- i totally felt the same way as you wen i left the cult. Sorta like i had to discover what the truth really was, no distortions. It was hard but by the skin of my teeth i hung onto my faith and now am much stronger in it. I suppose a helpful thing i learned from bein in a cult is to test everythin an not jus believe what people say to you just because they come at you in the name of

Something I forgot to mention but might be quite useful. Obv i don't know specificly who you're talking about so don't know where they would rank in what i'm about to say, but the way kirkby christian fellowship runs is this: at the top you have cheryl doyle, she has the final say an controls everything and as i understand it now, she is grooming another person to take over so

Hi all, I'm new to this forum- bit of background on me, I grew up in a cult but left with my family about five years ago. The place we went to claimed to be christian. Since leaving there I still follow the christian faith, but it a healthier way. I was just wondering if other people still go on with religion after leaving a cult, or am i a rarity?

I can understand you not wanting to write your personal stuff on here. Its about 5 years since i left, the circumstances of my leaving are to do with another person so i'd rather not post it. The thing is, you don't see it for what it is until you've left really- even now its hard for me to admit that its a cult.

I am a former member of Kirkby "Christian" Fellowship and could not agree more with what has already been said. Liverpool Writer- I would like to encourage you that you are doing a right thing. They need to be exposed- the sooner the better before they damage any more people's lives.
