You are right about the control not discipline bit. And when I think back I think how cleverly designed it was to make sure we were 'compliant'. If some stupidly minor rule was broken the supervisor gave a demerit, and we just had to stick it up on the chart. Interesting thread. Didn't you have the rule 'Griping is not tolerated'? I think it must have been part of the training from ACE, seems to be in place at lots of ACE shools, and it certainly was at the one I went to for 3 years.
