databass - I agree wholeheartedly. Reading through this thread, I'm amazed at how many people were damaged by these schools. My school was "supposedly" non-denominational, as I'm sure most of them are, but when it really came down to it they people running the school did not foster enthusiasm for learning -- they encouraged learning the system, which I did (just to survive).
