Also, thank you, Saddened, for letting us know about Leo. It's comforting have the great hope of our resurrection in Christ--that by God's grace, we'll see each other again.

Any word on what the former leaders are up to and who the current ones are and whether or not there has been a return to the Word of God or if they're still chasing goofy prosperity-based doctrines of demons? Anyone?...Anyone?...

Hi, Randy. I get that you are hurting, but you need to understand that this forum is not the appropriate place for you to write private correspondence to (or about) your estranged wife. OK? I understand that you are frustrated and upset by the events that have gone on in your personal life as a result of your contact with Turning Point. I get that, and I'm not discounting the reality

TO: Braveheart FROM: LearningPoint RE: I need you to contact the moderator for me, please. I apologize for interrupting your thread, but my private message feature hasn't been functioning for weeks now. Internet Explorer locks up every time I try to select a recipient for my message. Rmoderator, There seems to be some kind of a hack into the private messaging feature. I have tried several times to send you a PM, but the "compose message" page freezes when the indicator bar reads that the page is half loaded. Then Internet Explorer shuts down. This has happened in the exact same way a half a dozen times now. Thank you for looking into it.

TPR, I was hoping to hear from you, since a few of us responded to your question. Maybe you're on vacation, so I just put this message here to keep our thread visible near the top of the list. Thanks. :)

So, TPR, are they seeking an associate pastorship somewhere? My thoughts: A person (or people) cannot move on successfully until they realize their fault in matters that lie behind them--and not only realize their fault, but also admit it "out loud" to those concerned and seek to make reparation and restitution wherever possible. You cannot bury your problems alive and expect them

Wow, Nooneofanyimportance! What came immediately to my mind when you wrote that is that Mike Villamor could candidate at a church and say the same thing! You're right! If the people making the decisions at TP haven't learned anything from past experience, they'll bite on that line about church growth. Also, a British accent is a novelty and will draw a crowd (at least initially

Keep us posted, DOD. The former leadership thinks they're safe because they got out of Dodge. The fact that Jeff strung you along with lies to buy himself time to get out in a strong indicator that he knows, on some level, that leadership was wrong and is in jeopardy of legal trouble. Running away won't make the crime go away, though. (Don't let the statute of limitations run out b

Ostracized, You misunderstand me: You're the one I'm indicating is lacking direction and logic here. I'm not trying to be mean, but many of your posts are completely impossible to follow--I try to catch your logic, but one idea is only partially formed when you jump to another unrealted idea, and so forth. And then you refer to us as "you religious people" and say

Moderator, We sure could use your help here. Could you get us pointed in the right direction? Please see Ostracizedone's multiple posts over the past few months. People are indicating frustration at their lack of direction and logic, and one person has recently decided to stop participating in the discussion because of what appear to be irrelevant (or barely relevant) rants. But I'm

Quotejesuschristismydelight Ken and Jean Hale had their own church that I visited upon coming to Washington in 1994. It was a good and solid church. They are solid Christians and are humble people with much Christan fruit and values. Your comment on him being a joke as a pastor is uncalled for and spiteful. With all due respect, JCIMD, how could you possibly know the solidity of the church jus

PS: I don't believe in being dogmatic about who specifically is in hell and who isn't. (I think it's sick when so-called Christians make such declarations as the one in the article about Ghandi and, more recently, Liz Taylor.) There is one Judge, and He will do His job when it's time, and He will do it with absolute rightness, fairness, and goodness. I have enough on my plate

Hello, Calvin. Since you are by association, a supporter of what has been defined as a cult by an objective outside source (a parachurch consulting ministry), it would be in your best interest to answer each of TPReject's questions directly, one at a time, in the order they were asked. You need to do this to help everyone here see whether your association should be of grave concern to us

You call THAT an accounting? That was an attempt to skirt having to give an accounting. Like turning in a wikipedia printout of your term paper topic instead of writing a REAL term paper. That "accounting" should have made everyone run for the doors or at least zip their purses and wallets shut until further investigation. But instead the people at TP go, "Doh-dee-doh...uh-h

I remember when Jeff Barnes was reading Joel Osteen's book Your Best Life Now. Jeff thought it was great. Jeff is completely oblivious to what Christians in general--ones who know what the Bible says--see as the problem with teaching from the Osteen and the likes of him. From Buddy's post, Jeff's still up to the same philosophy he learned from Joel O., Mike V., and Tony C.

For the record: I hope Chris Johnston DOES have what it takes. It would be a very good thing for Turning Point to have a man of strength of integrity, a man who won't bow to popular opinion. Another thing I wonder about these elder candidates: How many of them know what's in the Bible? How many of them have read it all the way through...and more than once? If you're going to le

OK. I agree that Chris Johnston seems like a good guy, but will he have the guts to stand up for the truth, or does he cow to the power? I wonder, does he call the shots for his family or does Judi? Nice men are wonderful, but they won't do on a church elder board if they're going to turn out to be "yes men." Does anyone know if Chris Johnston has what it takes?

He held up some legal documentation--which I don't remember whether it was that he'd "done his time" or been absolved or what--and was declaring his freedom. Meanwhile, his poor wife was sitting there looki

Saddened, It seems that, perhaps, church leaders in Marysville feel that it is "unChristian" to investigate too vigorously anything that claims to be Christian. So, if the sheep's clothing the wolf has donned looks passable at a "safe" distance, the wolf is allowed to mingle with--even lead--the sheep. We wouldn't want to seem judgmental toward that poor wolf tryi
